SCHOOL EVENTS
TECHNOLYMPICS (2019-2020)
Cambridge School, Noida hosted the Inter School Infotech festival, TECHNOLYMPICS on 19th
November, 2019. It is an IT based competition in which various tech savvy children get a chance
to showcase their talents. About 30 schools from NCR participated in this mega event which
commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Saurabh Sensharma an alumnus
of Cambridge School, Noida and NIT Trichy. A research fellow in various institutions in India and
abroad, he is presently working with Microsoft. The events for the day included Virtual Warriors,
Top Coders, Battle of Brains, Picturesque, Group Discussion, Webolution, Power Package, Let’s
Tinker, Movie Mashup, Crossword, Director’s Cut and Hardware Hunt. All the events were judged
by an eminent panel of judges from the IT Sector.
First, Second and Third prizes were given for each event. The overall trophy was won by DPS
Noida. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the efforts of the students and said that he was
impressed by the way the students of today are making use of technology in a positive way. The
event was graced by the members of the management committee.

WORLD INTERACT WEEK
MEMBERSHIP MONDAY
On 6th November, 2019, Interact Club members of Class XI addressed the students of Class VII
regarding Interact Club and the need for community service.

AROUND THE WORLD WEDNESDAY
On 6th November 2019, Ms. Garima Seth along with the Interactors of class XI conducted a
workshop on mental awareness for the students of Class VI.

THANKFUL THURSDAY
On 7th November 2019, the Interact club members got food prepared for the school cleaning staff
in order to thank them for all they do for us. About 51 of them were served Rajma Chawal and a
ladoo in the canteen area.

VISIT TO BLIND SCHOOL
As part of Interact Club activities nine students accompanied by Ms. Garima Seth visited
Saksham Daksh School, Noida on 8th November, 2019. The students interacted with

partially blind as well as blind and deaf children of the school. They saw the use of
technology and Braille and other applications to help communication and expression of
thoughts. It was indeed a great learning experience of a different kind for the Interactors.

FUNDRAISING FRIDAY
On 9th November, 2019, Best out of waste activity was conducted for the students of classes VI to
VIII. They were told to make useful items using waste items or materials which are of no use to
them. Students participated actively and made pencil stands, artificial nests, first aid boxes, wind
chimes and other decoration materials.

REGIONAL LEVEL CBSE SCIENCE EXHIBITION
The Central Board of Secondary Education has been taking many initiatives to generate curiosity
and develop scientific temperament amongst learners. Such initiatives not only encourage
learners to create, innovate and invent but also enable them to become more responsible in the
use of Science and Technology. Every year the Board invites students of affiliated schools from
Class VI to XI to prepare research on science projects/ exhibits that are original, innovative and
creative. For the academic session 2019-20 the CBSE Science Exhibition was held at Cambridge
School, Noida at the Regional Level on 25th & 26thNovember, 2019.The theme of the exhibition
was Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with a Thrust on Water
Conservation. Students of classes VI-XI from 43 schools in and around Noida participated
enthusiastically and displayed their innovative models.
The event commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana in
Kathak style. The Principal of Cambridge School, Noida Mr. Soumen Chakraborty then welcomed

the august gathering. In his inaugural speech, the Chief Guest, Mr. Anurag Tripathi, IRPS,
Secretary, CBSE, motivated the students to set high goals and follow them passionately and
declared the exhibition open. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Manager of
Cambridge School, Noida, Dr Kalyani Roy, Secretary, SAE, teachers and students of the guest
and host schools. Dr. Narendra Arya, Director Interface, DRDO, was the Guest of Honour for the
event. He advised the students how to manage their examinations in a stress free manner.
On the second day, 26th November, 2019, the Chief Guest was Mr. Manish Agarwal, Regional
Officer, CBSE, Noida and the Guest of Honour was Dr. D. K. Bhattacharya, former scientist,
DRDO. They gave away the prizes to the best exhibits and their scientists during the Valedictory
function. Certificates for participation were given to all participants. 14 entries were selected by a
panel of eminent persons for the National level to be held in January 2020. The event was
attended by the students of Cambridge School, Noida, students from neighbouring schools,
parents, teachers, members of the Management Committee and invited dignitaries.

CULTURAL INTER-SCHOOL FESTIVAL: IMAGE
Cambridge School, Noida organised IMAGE- a two day festival of Inter-School Competitions in
Literary, Art and Cultural activities on the theme Sanrakshan
The festival saw students from nearly 30 prestigious schools of Noida and NCR participating in the
two day extravaganza on 28th and 29th November, 2019. IMAGE, the annual festival of Cambridge
School, Noida is being held with great enthusiasm and fervour for the last thirty years where a
plethora of activities are held over two days. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, Society for the
Advancement of Education and other School Management Committee members graced the
occasion.
The inaugural ceremony began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp amidst chanting of shlokas.
This year the occasion was graced by the renowned Indian Classical Flautist Mr. Rajendra
Prasanna as the Chief Guest on 28th November, 2019, and Ms. Galina Lyakhova famous Russian
Ballet danseuse and Director Russian Classical Ballet Academy on 29th November, 2019.
Various competitions such as Dadi Ma ki Kahaniya, Show & Tell, Folk Tale Presentation, Poetry
Express: Enactment of a Poem, Group Folk Song, Folk Dance, Hindi Poetry Recitation, Maths in
Architecture - Futuristic Eco Friendly Stadia, Laya Sangam (Taal Vadya Vadan), Suranjali, Indian
Heritage & Current Affairs Quiz, Junior Art Competitions, Senior Art Competitions: Bageswari,
The Fountain Head: English Creative Writing Competition, Tarana or Chaturang, Western Dance,
Enactment of Shakespeare's Dramatic Monologue / Soliloquy, Nukkad Natak, Symposium: Smart
Cities 2025, Think Tank, Sanskrit Samvaad Sukta, Paradise Regained : Garden out of Waste were

conducted over two days. Each competition was adjudged by a panel of eminent judges.
Somerville School, Noida was declared the overall winner of the A. C. Deb Memorial rolling trophy
for their enthusiastic and commendable performance.

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS
VISIT TO NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE 42 students from Class XII Commerce Section along with two teachers attended a three hour
workshop on Financial Literacy, Markets and Management conducted by Ms. Monica Sachdeva
(Business Development - Resource Person) at National Stock Exchange on 7th November, 2019.
The presentation was very interactive, informative and exhaustive in nature. The topic highlighted
the importance of saving from early stage. Various real life case studies were discussed which
were very enriching. Ms. Sumathy Ragunathan and Ms. Preeti Sharma attended the workshop.

EAT RIGHT PROGRAMME
A one hour workshop was organized by the District Administration on 8th November, 2019 at
Cambridge School, Noida to familiarise students with the Eat Right Movement. The session was
aimed to engage, excite and enable students to improve their health and well being by making the
right food choices. The workshop was attended by the students of classes 6 to 8. The resource
persons were Dr. Shamsun Neha and Ms Shweta, Food Security Officers, FSDA.
Dr. Shamsun Neha began the session with an introduction of Eat Right Movement campaign
launched by the Government of India on 10 July, 2018. She interacted with the students and
emphasized the importance of hygiene, nutritious food and balanced diet in our day to day life.
She informed the students about the three major pillars of the Eat Right Movement; Eat safe, Eat
healthy and Eat sustainably. She also sensitized the students about the ill effects of regular and
excessive consumption of food high in salt, sugar and fat and how 80% of the diseases like heart
disorders and diabetes can be avoided if we reduce the intake of salt, sugar and oil in our
everyday diet. It was a good learning experience for the students as well as for the teachers and
showed how simple lifestyle modifications and consuming nutritionally a balanced diet can lead to
a good and healthy life.
GANDHI AT 150 BY INTACH
The Heritage Education and Communication Service division of INTACH organized an all India
essay and painting competition Gandhi at 150 – Icon of Change, for school students of classes
VII to IX on 20th November, 2019. Four students from Cambridge School, Noida participated in the
competition. A person associated with Khadi India taught escorting teacher Ms. Jaya Pathak to
spin the Charkha and make thread out of cotton.

CAPACITY BUILDING FOR TEACHERS
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON ACADEMIC SUPERVISION
Capacity Building Programme on Academic Supervision was organized by Educational
Technology and Management Academy on 5th and 6th November 2019 at Salwan Public School,
Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi. Ms. Shamoly Ghose and Ms. Divya Pal attended this programme.
The workshop focussed on various topics ranging from Alternative Pedagogy for improving
learning outcome, Flipped blended learning design, Academic leadership to Rubrics for classroom
observation of teachers. It was an enriching experience for the teachers.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
On 7thNovember, 2019, teachers of the Computer Department, Ms. Preeti Khanna, Ms. Jyoti Joshi
and Ms. Sandhya along with four students of class XI-XII went to India International Centre, Max
Mueller Marg, to attend an interactive seminar on Artificial Intelligence organised by PEAS. Mr.
Bhagirath Kumar (Chief Manager, GAIL) gave a general technical overview of the topic supported
by real life examples while Mr. Deepak Gulati (Global Head, American Bank) spoke about the
Five A's of AI, giving a more end-user's point of view. It was a highly enriching and informative
session enjoyed by all the participants.
CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR WORKSHOP
A workshop was conducted by the Psychology Department of Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri on
22nd November, 2019.The theme of the workshop was Consumer Behaviour. The presentation
by the different speakers encompassed various facets of impact of marketing skills, different types
of consumer behaviour and personality types and the growing trend towards Minimalism. It was
an enriching workshop giving an insight into the latest research on consumer behaviour. Ms.
Roomki Mitra from Cambridge School, Noida attended the workshop.

TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS
ADVENTURE ISLAND TRIP All the sections of class XII accompanied by five teachers went on a trip to Adventure Island on
20th November, 2019. The students were at their best behaviour was exemplary and followed the
instructions given to them. Sumptuous refreshments were and the students enjoyed the outing
thoroughly.
