The Reduced Shakespeare Company presents:

The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)

The Good Book Just Got Better! It’s apocalypse now as the three cultural guerrillas of The Reduced Shakespeare Company set their reductive sights on the good book.

Yes, it’s an affectionate, irreverent roller coaster ride from fig leaves to final judgment as the bad boys of abridgement tackle the great theological questions: Did Adam and Eve have navels? Did Moses really look like Charlton Heston? And why isn’t the word “phonetic” spelt the way it sounds?

The Nightmare is a haunting experience which places the story in WWI. Dark, dangerous woods become the playground to the vengeful spirits and disastrous consequences.

The Gondoliers

This ever popular G&S opera follows the fortunes of two gondoliers who ply the canals of Venice. They have just married their brides only to discover that one of the gondoliers is the King of Barataria who was kidnapped as a baby and, to make matters worse, had been married in infancy to the daughter of a Duke. They are forced to leave their brides and rule jointly on the island of Barataria until the

baby’s foster mother is found and can reveal the true identity of the King. In typical Gilbert & Sullivan tradition everything comes to a satisfactory ending.

The colourful settings and costumes are matched by some of Sullivan’s liveliest songs including “Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes”, “When a Merry Maiden Marries” and, of course, “Dance a Cachucha”.

National Treasure, and without doubt one of Britain’s most talented and best loved comedians, British comedy award winner Billy Pearce appears on stage as part of his latest National tour in a night of adult comedy not to be missed! Billy’s jokes flow one after another, with such velocity that it’s like being on the receiving end of a machine gun. Although many of the themes Billy jokes about are of an adult nature, unlike other comedians, he never descends into the quagmire of crudity, nor does he rely on obscene language.
