Gas turbines operating in offshore and marine installations and equipped with high velocity air inlet systems are in many cases suffering from high pressure drop, corrosion and rapid engine degradation leading to exten-sive maintenance. These shortcomings are mainly a result of poor filter performance due to the high air-to-media ratio. This limits dust holding capacity and filtration efficiency. The Cam-Flo GTX7 is developed to offer a better solution for these types of installations.

With its larger media area, the Cam-Flo GTX7 offers higher dust hol-ding capacity and increased efficiency

while maintaining a lower pressure drop than competing systems with multiple filters. It’s robust design and unique composite media offer clear advantages over existing alternatives for high velocity systems.

CamCuard reduces downtimeThe CamGuard is a coarse filter that is installed downstream of the Cam-Flo GTX7, allowing online filter replacement thus reducing costly downtime.

The Cam-Flo GTX7 has a much higher efficiency than the CamGuard. During regular operation, the Cam-Flo GTX7 will prevent any dust from loa-

ding the CamGuard. Only during online filter change of the upstream filter will the CamGuard be challenged with dust, leading to an extended filter life for the CamGuard. This extends intervals between forced shut downs due to final filter replacement.

Unique composite mediaThe Cam-Flo GTX7 has a newly develo-ped dual layer filter media. First - and second stage filtration in one media increases the dust holding capacity and extends filter life.

The synthetic media of the Cam-Flo GTX7 has excellent mechanical strength, which makes it a perfect match for gas turbine operations, especially in areas where considerations for high humidity and/or turbulence is important. It can operate in temperatures up to 70°C/158°F and 100% RH.

Maximum surface use The V-shaped pockets inhibit contact between the bags and distribute the air evenly over the filter area, utilizing the entire filter surface. This serves to optimize airflow and minimize operational pressure drop.

To ensure performance even at higher than average airflow, the filters are made of a special stainless steel frame for maximum strenght and reinforcements which are located between the bags to ensure the filter´s stability and shape. Traditional pockets CMS V-shape pockets

Maximum uptime Service stops for compressor washing or filter replacement lead to significant loss of power output and for mechanical drive applications costly production stoppages. A compressor washing and associated maintenance can take a unit offline for as long as 24 hours. And apart from the loss of revenues during a shut-down, starting and stopping the engine may cause thermal stress of components and lead to costly repairs.

The Cam-Flo GTX7 delivers high and stable filtration with low airflow restric-tion – longer than standard filters. In combination with the CamGuard, which allows the operator to swap the filter on-line, service intervals are extended two to three times compared to traditional one stage filter systems.

These features makes the Cam-Flo GTX7 the ideal choice for high velocity systems in oil and gas sector, where engine availa-bility is the main concern for operators.
