Buck is stolen from his comfortable homein California and sold as a hard labor, he isforced into a life of working and travelingin the frozen North as part of the sled dog

team. Buck used to live in a nicefamily with Judge Miller,except the Judge, his wife,and their kids, Buck has theauthority over all other

people and animals. Beingsold to the North as aworking dog and be treatedworse in such environment isa huge turning point in

Buck's life, it forced him tobecome stronger to survive.

Buck is saved by his newowner John Thornton, acloseness is developedbetween the two until the

death of Thornton.

To Buck, Thornton is the best owner

comparing to his other owners. Unlikethose people, Thornton sees Buck andthe other dogs as him own children andlove them deeply from his heart.

Thornton says greetings and cheering

words to the dogs, he even sits downfor a long talk with them

Buck learns how to love while spendingtime with Thornton

Jason Life: We may be put into

different situations that we are

not willing to be in or put in, but

we need to learn to fight and

overcome obstacles.

Feedom: Freedom is a

comparison between two

concepts. It depend on how we

define freedom. Buck is free at

first, but felt like prison in the

middle. At the end, he was the

leader of a sled and a wolf pack,

which to me, he feels free again.

Control: There are decisions that

we cannot make and powers that

we are not able to fight against.

We have control over our desires

and internal thoughts, but there

are just powers that we have no

control over. (Not just nature)
