The hall looked very festive, with tables laid and decorated by U3A helpers, finished off by the flower arranging group’s lovely floral centrepieces. The excellent meal of roast turkey or beef, followed by desserts of trifle, chocolate log or fruit salad was beautifully prepared by our caterer Shirley Floyd and her team. Entertainment was provided by Wendy Fader’s thought provoking Christmas quiz, a sheet of jokes and senior moment funnies from the Humour group and a selection of poems and sketched from the play readers. The event was completed by Ros Bunkum’s Singing for Pleasure group, who gave us two delightful seasonal songs and led us all in a community carol singing. On Monday 5th December, around 84 members gathered for our traditional Christmas lunchtogether. The hall looked very festive, with tables laid and decorated by U3A helpers, finishedoff by the flower arranging group’s lovely floral centrepieces. The excellent meal of roast turkey

December but instead  enjoyed a Christ-mas lunch with Bookworms at eWho'd A ought It Inn at St Do-minick.  It was a good meal nicelycooked with good service, which is notalways easy to find for larger groupbookings at this time of year.

For our January meeting we are contin-uing writing to a genre theme and wehave chosen 'the thriller'.  ere havebeen plenty of examples on TV over thefestive period, so we will see if we havegained any insights!

� Bridgee Bridge Club continues to meet regularly each Tuesday evening at theMethodist Church in Callington at7.30pm.
