On the 7th of October, Kem Production planned to go to our intended filming locations and film. However, we could not do so due to a couple of mishaps. So subsequently the locations which we intended to film at; which were mostly in streatham had to be changed to avoid anymore of the same mishaps as this was a threat to the safety of KEM Productions as well as the cast team.

As we could no longer film at streatham, I as the location scout had to then subsequently find locations much more closer to college to avoid any danger threats. In the next series of slides are some locations which I have looked at which much more closer to college. While re-searching for locations I had to keep in mind:• The facilities around this location • The shops and cafés around this location• Power sources• Lightning of these locationsAnd finally…• The distance

Also, due to this change of plans, a new call sheets would be drawn up. This would be viewed later in my blogging.

Location scouting (NEW)

Due to the mishaps at Streatham common. We decided to book a location which was much closer to college; for safety reasons. As the location scout; it is my duties to carry out this task. So I began to look at locations such as Clapham park. I have also decided to include some documentation of this location just as I did with my previous scouting presentation.

Name of location: Clapham common

More documentation of this location in next slide>>>

General observations on this location:Practicality: I think although this park may not be as cluttered and clustered with trees as Streatham common; I it the best substitute and best option which we have, having taken into consideration the crews safety. Distance: A positive factor which this location holds is that it is about 5minutes walk from the college. This allows KEM Production is save money on travel costs considering that our budget is very low. Comments: although this may not be my favourite option for the forest scene. I do acknowledge that it avoids any threats to our safety and it also helps to save costs. Having visited this location, there are some parts which include clustered trees which can be used to create the forest feel which we are looking for.

Forest scene: Clapham common.

On my way to the next location during my location scouting trip; I stumbled upon a new location. Which I though to be perfect for the exterior view of the grandmothers house. However, as this is not a public property I needed permission. This means a contract needs to be drawn by the council which would then give KEM Production the permission to film this house.

Grandmother’s house. Exterior view Shots: 2, 3 and 4

General observations on this location:Practicality: as this location is located just off a road. This may hold a practical problem as it may be hard to get a close up view of the house as the camera crew would have to stand right on the road and this can hold a safety problem. Distance: this location takes approximately 10 minutes to get to from Clapham south. Comments: I believe this location is perfect for the feel we need for this scene. However, It may hold safety issues as it is a deserted area with almost no cars and pedestrians around, although this may be a positive, it could be a negative. Permission to film on this site would also be needed.

Contract sheet for filming on 70 Rectory Grove. (Grandmother’s house exterior view) Due to the fact that this is a private building. I, as the location scout and location manager; would have to get permission from the council to film on this site as well as film around this house. This is why I have constructed a contract sheet for this site with the help of my director and producer. This contract has been signed. Which allows KEM production to film 70 Rectory Grove.

General observations on this location:Practicality: This site can be classified practical as it includes all the quality which would be needed to make the crew confortable as well as keeping the crew safe. This church includes chairs and tables which allows KEM production to be able to leave instruments and items around without any getting lost. Distance: this location, from Clapham south, takes approximately 15minites to get to. Comments: I really do believe this location can work as long as orders are made and guidelines are given, I say this because this location is a religious setting whereby language needs to be appropriately used and a specific level of noise would be permitted. Also, due to the fact that this location is deserted and isolated, certain orders would have to be given to ensure crew members safety.

Due to the fact that KEM production were unable to find a suitable house to film the grandmother’s scene, we decided to change the scene entirely . This meant readjusting the storyboard. After a prolonged conversation on what was most suitable to replace the interior view of the grandmothers house, we decided to replace this with the grandmother in the church, doing several things. For instance having her in the church; (St Pauls church Clapham) cry, sobbing, reading the bible and praying
