WINNETKA – Mike and Sami Rice celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary at Winnetka Bowl last week, doing what they’ve been doing every Tuesday night – serv-ing as league secretaries for the “Guys and Dolls” league.

The reports are untrue that the San Fernando Valley couple has worked as “Guys and Dolls” coordinators for nearly that long.

It just seems that way.Mike and Sami have now served for 20 years as coordi-

nators for the “Guys and Dolls” league, which has its roots in now-defunct AMF Rocket Bowl in Chatsworth. The league moved to AMF Woodlake Lanes after Rocket Bowl closed in 2009 and is now in its third season at Winnetka Bowl.

“We love being with Guys and Dolls,” Sami says. What makes her job so special, Sami says, is “the peo-

ple – being able to talk to them and make them happy, or at least trying to make them happy. That’s why I took the job in the first place.”

Longtime “Guys and Dolls” bowler Carol Tucker says she always feels at home in the league and credits the Rices. “Mike and Sami demonstrate every week that they care about the bowlers,” she said.

“They work very hard making sure the bowlers’ problems are solved and that the bowlers are happy participating in the ‘Guys and Dolls’ league. We are very lucky to have them as our leaders.”

Mike and Sami have been fixtures on the league bowling scene both as bowlers and administrators. Sami, who formerly averaged in the 130s, has retired from bowling. But Mike remains a right-handed ace with a 177

average. He enjoyed the game of his life in 2012 at age 64 when he struck on his first 10 shots before finishing with a flashy 288.

But it’s as league secretaries where the two have made their bowling mark. They built up the “Guys and Dolls” league to a powerful 27 teams at Rocket Bowl and have kept the league strong through the transition to Winnetka Bowl.

As for being married 48 years, Sami says it hasn’t come easy. “You have to work at it every day,” says Sami, who married her husband less than three months after meeting him.

“You have to respect each other every day and you have to be considerate every day“We don’t give up when we’re fighting. He puts up with my garbage and I put up with his garbage. Marriage is

50-50. It’s not one-sided. You always have to come up with a compromise that’s considerate to each other’s feelings.”Mike and Sami’s daughter, Stephanie, came to Winnetka Bowl to join the anniversary celebration. Asked about the

longevity of Mike and Sami’s marriage, Stephanie joked, “It really makes me feel old.”Mike was contacted first for this story, but he passed the phone to his wife after expressing disbelief that he and his

wife deserved to be the focus of a story. “We’re just quiet people – at least I am,” he said, laughing. One final question for Sami: Would she and Mike stick around as “Guys and Dolls” league secretaries for another

20 years? “I hope so,” she said.

CHICAGO – The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) is riding the wave of mo-mentum from significant viewership gains on PBA World Series of Bowling telecasts as its ‘Big February’ shows are set to begin on ESPN this Sunday.

Boosted by a Christmas Day audience of more than 1 million viewers for the PBA Scorpion Championship presented by Reno Tahoe USA, the six-telecast GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VIII presented by Silver Legacy enjoyed a 15 percent increase in viewership year-over-year to close out the 2016 PBA season on ESPN. The Christmas Day audience was the highest for a PBA event on ESPN in two years.

The WSOB, held for the second straight year at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, has the greatest audience reach and is the most lucrative event in professional bowling. WSOB VIII, which had competition dates Nov. 27-Dec 11, featured multiple PBA title tournaments, a purse of more than $700,000 and PBA bowlers from 23 differ-ent countries.

In addition to the viewership gains on ESPN, WSOB VIII also had strong reach and increases across the rest of the multifaceted PBA Network:

• The PBA’s digital streaming service Xtra Frame, which webcast more than 100 hours of live coverage of WSOB VIII, had a 15 percent subscription increase over 2015 and a 49 percent increase in 3-day subscription passes.

• The PBA’s web site, pba.com, had 142,000 unique visitors making 2.3 million page views, many following live scoring during the duration of WSOB VIII.

• The PBA’s official YouTube Channel (PBABowling), had more than 1.3 million views (and growing) of WSOB VIII content from a combination of highlight and full archived ESPN shows.

• The PBA’s social media WSOB VIII coverage and repurposed video highlights reached 6.3 million people. There were nearly 1 million WSOB-related video views on PBA Facebook alone.

The WSOB VIII’s main event, the PBA World Championship, which aired live Dec. 11 and was replayed on ESPN on New Year’s Day, was won by 2016 PBA Player of the Year candidate EJ Tackett.

The other title events, which all aired live on ESPN3 and WatchESPN for the first time and on delay on ESPN, were won by Mike Wolfe (Cheetah Championship presented by PBA Bowling Challenge mobile game), Mitch Beasley (Chameleon Championship presented by HotelPlanner.com), Tommy Jones (Scorpion) and 2016 PBA Rookie of the Year candidate Francois Lavoie (Shark Championship).

The 2017 PBA on ESPN season begins this Sunday with the Main Event Terrell Ow-ens PBA Super Clash live from Katy, Texas, from 2-4 pm EST.

The special event telecast kicks off ‘Big February’ for the PBA, with major champion-ships airing live on ESPN at 1 pm EST for the following three consecutive weeks:

• Feb. 12 (Barbasol PBA Players Championship)• Feb. 19 (FireLake PBA Tournament of Champions)• Feb. 26 (USBC Masters)

Additionally, the CP3 PBA Celebrity Invitational (Friday, Feb. 17) and the live World Bowling Tour Finals (Feb. 26 following the Masters), fill out ESPN’s PBA coverage in February.

All PBA programming on ESPN is simulcast on ESPN3.com and WatchESPN. PBA Xtra Frame will cover all of the major championship action from qualifying to the finals live for subscribers. Go to pba.com or xtraframe.TV for information.

THOUSAND OAKS – There was so much optimism when it was announced in August 2013 that a bowling center was planned for Janss Marketplace in the east Ven-tura County city of Thousand Oaks.

And even when it appeared something was dragging out the process, local bowlers clinged to the hope that Thousand Oaks could somehow land its first bowling cen-ter since the Conejo Bowl closed in 1995. But all hope for the proposed bowling center (and indoor skateboarding area and arcade) got squashed in 2015 when news about the project suddenly became scarce and the story just fad-ed from the radar screen.

Representatives of the planned bowling center had tar-geted the spacious area in the Janss mall occupied by Pa-davo Home Furnishings, which had taken over the Linens ’n Things store about seven years ago.

Although things didn’t work out for the bowling cen-ter, another recreational business has now jumped into the void at Janss.

Newmark Merrill, the owner of Janss Marketplace, dis-closed that it has signed a 10-year lease with Provo, Utah-based CircusTrix to open a 37,000-square-foot trampoline center at the Padavo site, according to the weekly Acorn newspaper.

Yes, a trampoline center has bounced the bowling cen-ter off the Janss landscape.

CircusTrix develops and operates indoor trampoline and extreme recreation parks. It has more than 30 parks in the U.S., Europe and Asia and is the largest such opera-tor in the world. SkyWalk Extreme Air Sports in Fresno is the closest.

A CircusTrix representative said the company hopes to open DojoBoom at Janss in May, according to the Acorn.

So it appears it’s all systems go for the huge trampoline center at Janss. But one still has to wonder how a bowling center would have fared there.

SUPER CLASH continued from page 1Belmonte, representing the New England Patriots, defeat-ed Mowl and Tackett, representing the Atlanta Falcons, 19-18, in a four-frame match that used a special ‘football’ scoring system.

Earlier in the telecast Cummins substituted for the late-arriving Ochocinco in the kickoff round to help that team earn the top seed for the Super Clash.

CHINO — It may not seem significant for the everyday bowler, but it’s definitely a big deal for bowling centers across the country.

US Bowling Corporation has acquired Murrey Interna-tional, Inc., in a deal involving leading bowling manufac-turers. Los Angeles-based Murrey will move to US Bowl-ing’s Chino location.

The deal was struck Jan. 5, according to David Frew-ing, the president of US Bowling. “It went down in a mat-ter of just a few weeks,” he said.

Murrey, founded in 1938 by the late Gordon Murrey, is known worldwide for manufacturing bowling-lane equip-ment.

On its website, Murrey cites the company’s bowling-lane installation at Google (now Alphabet Inc.) headquar-ters in Mt. View, Calif. It also lists customers such as PINZ Bowling Center in Studio City, the U.S. Air Force and Navy, Walt Disney, ABC, Fox and the San Francisco Giants.

Frewing said US Bowling now will be able to manu-facture “everything” bowling-wise with the addition of Murrey. “The lanes were the last missing piece,” he said. He added that “essentially there was no overlap” in cus-tomer base. US Bowling, founded in 1994, is the largest independent builder of new bowling centers in the country. Among its clients, US Bowling has built 23 locations for upscale bowling chain Lucky Strike, Frewing said.

Murrey is an industry leader of synthetic lanes and has installed thousands of their bowling lanes around the world. “The best benefit of the deal was acquiring the rights to [Murrey’s] synthetic lane, the website, interna-tional distributor network and their military base busi-ness,” Frewing said.

In a press release, US Bowling said it “will also incor-porate Murrey’s new MGM5000 Pinspotter to their line of bowling products. When added to the line, it will give US Bowling the ability to offer customers a complete new bowling center package to compete with any competitor around the world.”

US Bowling has about 20 employees and will add about eight of Murrey’s workers to the company.

“Our intention is to keep [Murrey] intact as much as possible,” Frewing said.

One of Murrey’s employees who will be retained is Bill Snoberger, Murrey’s national sales manager.

“We have a long-running relationship with Murrey In-ternational, as they have been providing world-class bowl-ing lanes to us for nearly 15 years,” Frewing said. “We are extremely excited about the addition of Bill and what he brings to our organization. “Over the next six weeks, ev-erything we’ve acquired in this transaction will be moved to US Bowling’s facility, 45 miles to the east.”

Said Snoberger: “I have known Daroll Frewing almost 30 years, long before he started US Bowling. US Bowling was the fiercest competitor on a professional level. I am thrilled to come to work for such a great organization and most importantly, a class family.”

Daroll Frewing, David’s father, will remain as US Bowling’s chief executive.

“We’re happy to have a company such as US Bowling take over Murrey’s line of bowling products and maintain the continuity with the Murrey brand name,” said Patrick Murrey, president of Murrey International.

“I think, too, that Daroll and David Frewing have a lot of the same family values that we do.”

GOING TO LAS VEGAS FOR THE NATIONALS ?

PORTLAND, MI — While the PBA is moving into the “Big February” portion of its 2017 season, construction is progressing on the “new” Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine, in anticipation of the arrival of the PBA League and Mark Roth/Marshall Holman PBA Doubles Champi-onship in April.

Construction of “West Bayside Bowl,” the new eight-lane addition to the facility, will complement “East Bay-side Bowl,” the existing 12-lane side. The new addition is expected to be completed by the end of February. Propri-etor Charlie Mitchell said a special “grand opening” will take place in mid-March. East Bayside will remain as-is with its original bar-restaurant retaining the historic feel of the facility.

The Roth/Holman Doubles will use all 20 lanes in East Bayside and West Bayside for preliminary rounds, with the live ESPN finals (on Sunday, April 16 at 10 a.m.) and all four televised rounds of PBA League competition (air-ing on consecutive Sundays April 23-May 14, all at 10 a.m.) originating from the new West Bayside lanes.

“NEW” BAYSIDE BOWL GETTING READY FOR PBA LEAGUE AND

ROTH/HOLMAN DOUBLES

World Championship for his fourth title of the year and he was one of three players to qualify for the match play finals in all four PBA animal pattern championships (Cheetah, Chameleon, Scorpion and Shark) that are part of the WSOB. He ended the year as the PBA’s earnings leader ($154,900) and finished third in scoring average (224.49 for 490 games).

In addition to the PBA World Championship, Tackett won titles in the 2016 Xtra Frame Storm Open, Xtra Frame PBA Team Challenge and the Bear Open during the PBA Fall Swing.

At age 24, he became the second-youngest player to win PBA’s top annual individual honor. Only the late Billy Hard-wick was younger when he was selected as PBA’s first Player of the Year in 1963 at age 22.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” Tackett said. “I switched to 16 pounds at the end of the 2015 season, had some success and just kept doing what I do. I got the ball rolling the right way and kept it going all year. Winning on television gave me a boost in confidence. I always knew I could do that, but to actually win on TV was something else.

“One thing I’ve always noted about the (Player of the Year) award is it’s named for Chris Schenkel (the PBA Hall of Fame announced for years on ABC-TV). Most people don’t know he was from my home town.”

Tackett also is off to a great start in 2017, winning the PBA Tour’s first event, the DHC PBA Japan Invitational in Osaka, Japan.

“I’m going to stay in the same mindset and try to make TV shows and win,” he said. “That’s why I do what I do – try to win.”

Lavoie, who joined the PBA following a successful collegiate bowling career at Wichita State University, made four television finals during his first year, but none was more impressive than the U.S. Open where he not only won his first title – and a major at that – but also bowled the first nationally-televised 300 game in the prestigious tournament’s color-ful history. The sport’s oldest major championship began as the BPAA All Star in 1942.

Lavoie was involved in a Canadian-dominated Rookie of the Year race with Ontario’s Graham Fach, his Team Can-ada teammate, who drew first blood when he won the Barbasol PBA Players Championship early in the year to become the first Canadian to win a PBA Tour title (also a major). After winning the U.S. Open, Lavoie broke open the race in the World Series, winning his second title in the PBA Shark Championship and finishing the season fifth among the PBA’s average leaders (222.79 for 330 games) and seventh in earnings ($79,920).

“Usually there aren’t multiple rookies who win titles, but I was fortunate to have a strong finish and that’s kind of what sealed the deal,” Lavoie said. “I’m sure Graham had the same goal, but only one of us can win. To finally have it official is great.

“(Winning Rookie of the Year) was a goal,” Lavoie said. “Every year on Team Canada our coach tries to help us set goals and that’s one of the goals I set for myself. You try to aim high, but also set a goal that’s feasible. It justifies all of the hard work I’ve put in.

“It’s been a great year for Canadian bowling.”Smallwood, 39, has been a popular competitor since joining the PBA Tour in 2009.

After losing his job with General Motors during the economic downturn, Smallwood decided to pursue his childhood dream of competing on the PBA Tour. He entered the former PBA “exempt tour” qualifier in Allen Park, Mich., and won an exemption to bowl full-time the following season. But he then pulled off a dream victory, winning the PBA World Championship for $50,000 and his first Tour title, resulting in enormous national media attention that included a feature in Sports Illustrated, network television exposure and major national newspaper features.

Smallwood won a second title in the 2013 PBA Scorpion Championship and he has made 11 additional championship round appearances, including runner-up finishes in the 2011 PBA Tournament of Champions and the 2016 PBA World Championship.

“It’s a really a good deal,” Smallwood said, adding with a grin, “When you don’t say much, people think you’re nice, but it’s nice to be thought of as a good guy. I spend a lot of time with (three-time Nagy award winner) Parker Bohn, and I know what kind of guy

he is. To be in the group with him, and the other winners, is pretty cool.” Other nominees for the Nagy award included 2015 winner Josh Blanchard of Mesa, Ariz.; Lavoie; Brad Miller of

Raytown, Mo., and Jon Van Hees of Charlestown, R.I.Page is the fourth recipient of the Tony Reyes Community Service Award, honoring

the popular PBA Tour champion who lost his life following a traffic accident in 2012.Joining previous recipients Parker Bohn III, Missy Parkin and Ed Godbout, Page was

nominated for his involvement over the past eight years with the Thomas Cacioppo fam-ily in New York in raising money to combat Crohns and Colitis. The Rhino Page Strike Out Crohns and Colitis fund-raisers have generated more than $225,000 to help combat the debilitating digestive tract disorders.

In March, Page will expand his involvement by hosting the PBA Strike Out Crohns and Colitis South Open at Boardwalk Bowl in his adopted hometown, Orlando, Fla.

The 2016 PBA award winners will receive their awards during the PBA Hall of Fame and Awards ceremonies at the Grand Casino in Shawnee, Okla., on Monday, Feb. 13. The hall of fame ceremonies will be live streamed on PBA’s Xtra Frame online bowling channel, beginning at 5 p.m.

For decades DeWaine and Mari West were one of the top bowling couples in California. They competed in doz-en’s of our leagues and tournaments and they always were at or near the top of the standings. Both are great bowlers.

DeWaine is a Citrus Belt Hall of Famer who has aver-aged above 220 for over two decades. He led the Citrus Belt in average a few season’s ago with a 241 book and Mari has averaged over 190 for years. Both have rolled numerous honor scores with DeWaine having seventy-five perfect games and forty-eight 800s, with a high of 848. Their twenty-seven years of marriage seems to have made them better bowlers.

Unfortunately for us and California, DeWaine retired from the U.S. Postal Service about two years ago and he and Mari moved to Buckeye, Arizona. Still, once a Cali-fornia bowler always a California bowler.

The West’s came to Laughlin in a few weeks ago to compete in their third Laughlin Blast. It was great seeing them again. BOWLING BRINGS OLD FRIENDS TO-GETHER.

As mentioned above, THE WEST’S SCORED IN LAUGHLIN. They rolled several big scores in there. DeWaine rolled three No Tap perfect 300 games, one of which was a the only real perfect game (12 real strikes) of the tournament. That real 300 included 12 real strikes which were part of a string of 22 consecutive real strikes. Both DeWaine and Mari rolled No Tap 800s.

The GREAT SPORT OF BOWLING always means great camaraderie, great competition, great fun and if you’re California bowlers usually means big scores. De-Waine and Mari West scored in Laughlin!

The new Quantum Forest Green Solid and Quantum Fire Pearl feature the return of single density cores along with thicker shells using 3.5 times more coverstock. This improves durability, increases performance longevity, and creates more hitting power! Through the use of controlled dynamic integrity, the core shapes for each weight have unique designs in order to control the core dynamics and the resulting hook potential in the 14, 15, and 16 pound balls.

THE PHYSICS OF WINNING.15 #14 # 16 #

DOWNEY — The final night of the third round didn’t disappoint when it comes to excitement, as Keystone Lanes and J.A.T squared off with the round at stake, and it wasn’t resolved until the final bowler struck in the 30th frame of the match.

J.A.T. held a two point advantage over Keystone Lanes when the night began, meaning that J.A.T. would need 2 points to clinch the round, which is either two games or one and totals. DV8, in third place, still held an outside chance if they were able to sweep their match and get a close split on the top pair.

Keystone Lanes got on the board first, taking game one by a mere three pins. Jonathan Huff, of Keystone Lanes led the way with a 235 game. Jonathan wasn’t even expected to make the match, as his wife Shannon had a false labor scare earlier in the evening, and they came here right from the hospital. Anthony Santos posted a 227 for J.A.T. in defeat. Game two also fell in favor of Keystone Lanes, this time by 28 pins. Huff was strong again at 204, and Eddie VanDaniker added a game high 213. Still, with totals still only separated by 31 pins, a strong finish by J.A.T. would be enough to hang on for the round. In the third game, J.A.T. was up to the challenge, including a long string of strikes from Larry Campbell. Keystone Lanes got a string from Eddie Van Daniker as well. Going into the 10th, J.A.T. was up by almost the exact number of pins they needed. It wasn’t to be on this night though, as when it mattered most, Eddie was up to the challenge, punching out for a 260 game. J.A.T. got the win, but not by the margin needed and the round belonged to Keystone Lanes. Larry Campbell finished with 258 in defeat, and J.A.T. will have to pick up the pieces and begin again in the next round. Eddie finished with a 671 series to lead the pair, followed by soon-to-be dad Jonathan Huff with 632.

On the second pair, DV8 needed a sweep and help from the top pair. It was over after game #1 for them. Sadly, they only lost the game by one pin, but it was enough to eliminate them from contention. DV8 was not only trying to pull off a miracle, but they were trying to do it with two subs as well, as one bowler was out with an injury and another was out of town for another tournament. Carl Labayan shot a 221 in the first game to help Cal Bowl to the win. For the series, Ramon Torres led Cal Bowl with 204-257/644. Sam Hitchcock, subbing for DV8, posted a 255/629.

Threadworks had a great team series, as they took four out of five from the 2nd team in overall wins, Linder’s Insurance. Eric Snow paced Threadworks with 221-266/665 for the night. Ryan Cunningham led Linder’s in defeat, with 206-202/588.

Smirnoff swept all five games from Erickson’s Food Supply. Two of the three games were very close, but all swung to Smirnoff in the end. Smirnoff only opened up a lead for totals in the third game. Vernon Adams led the pair with 207-220/606.

Forest Lanes got five wins in a sweep over Herzog Insurance. Jon Diso was 55 pins clear of the field on this pair, with a 203-232/604 series to lead the way to victory.

Sysco took four out of five in their match with the Professional Ap-proach. Paul Barraco had a great set, shooting 249-245/690. Juan El-lison and Matt Schermerhorn both topped 600 for the Pro Approach, but it was only enough to win the 2nd game.

Johnny Sikkens fired a 236-223/628 series to lead the pair in a match between Crown Royal and Bowlium. Unfortunately for Johnny, it was only enough for two wins, as Bowlium won the match 3-2. Ramiro Garcia led Bowlium with 210/561.

Los Altos Trophy and Century 21 My Real Estate tied the 2nd game of their match, and that was the only bright spot for Century 21, as everything else fell in favor of Los Altos. They took the match 4 ½ to ½. Nick Rodriguez of Los Altos led the pair by a wide margin, with his 201-242/612 series.

G.J.C. Janitorial swept all five games from Gym W.R.A.T.T. Fit-ness on the final pair. Aaron Cardenas was the star of the match, shoot-ing a 211-201/589.

In a matchup of round winners, bowling for seeding in the playoffs, Parkin’s Bowling Supply took four out of five from Western Pacific. Buddy Lucas had a great 247-244/687 for Parkin’s to lead them to the victory.

Sidepots for the night went to Anthony Santos in game #1. Anthony led with 227. Game #2 was a tie between Threadworks teammates Eric Snow and Paul Varela with 221, to split the super pot. Eric Snow contin-ued his good bowling, winning the third sidepot with 266.

Snow’s 266 was good for the Financial Advisor’s Pot, and a $200 payout. Eddie Van Daniker took second place with his 260 game for $100.

With round three in the books, three spots have been clinched in the playoffs, and three spots remain. Plenty of good teams are still on the outside looking in, and the pressure to win only grows from here. The fourth round starts next week. A new pattern to frustrate. New equip-ment to try. New lines to figure out. Come down and watch the action, beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Monday nights at Del Rio Lanes in Downey.

DOWNEY — It wasn’t pretty, but it was enough as Threadworks moved into 1st place in Round 5 by sweep-ing past The Professional Approach 5-0. The US Open pat-tern was playing especially tough tonight as most teams struggled. Paul Varela led the charge to the top, as he fired a very nice 604 series to lead the sweep. Danny Ly led Power House Video Games to a sweep of their own, as they took down Blizz Yogurt 5-0. Danny shot 625, while Greg Neuer led Blizz with 581. Team DV8 is once again in contention for the round lead, as Sam Hitchcock winged his way to 242/623 and led DV8 to a 4-1 win over Linder Insurance.

Linder was paced by Kurt Arakaki 592 and Kevin Val-monte 591. In the best scoring match of the night, Pino’s Pizza prevailed 3-2 as they held off Alhambra Coin Center to win Team Totals by 13. Both teams bowled well, finishing as #1 and #2 scoring teams for the night, and their pair was 250 pins higher than any other two teams combined scoring for a pair. Leading the way for Pino’s was Ramon Torres 627 & Leonard Ruiz 600, while Alhambra was led by Doug Kempt 660 & Steve Gaucin 608. Herzog Insurance took a 4-1 win over the PJ-less Los Altos Trophies team as Mikey Villarreal shot 625 for the winners, while Top Dog for the night went to Los Altos’ Buddy Lucas with a very fine 670.

In the roll off team matches, it was Erickson Foods once again losing the first two games, only to come back strong in Game 3 and not only win the game, but Team Totals. Er-ickson pulls within 2.5 games of holding the #1 seed with the 3-2 win, as nobody managed to shoot 600 series, Herbert

Jones led the way for Keystone Lanes with 589, while Jason Buenviaje shot 563 for Ericksons. Charlie Kinstler shot 614 to lead SYSCO to a 5-0 sweep of Forest Lanes who strug-gled all night to catch SYSCO. Mason Man O’Lantern Sher-man topped Forest with 589. American Harvest Vodka out shot CASAMIGO’S Tequila and won 4-1 as Kevin Jones rolled 588, while Vernon Adams topped the Tequila team with 565. Mike Jennings shot 594 to lead Tifco Industries to a 4-1 win over BOWLIUM, who had the pair’s high series, Craig Stevens with 623. Matt Mosley powered his way to 255 & 638 to lead Cook’s Bowling Supply to a 5-0 sweep over J.A.T. DeeRonn Booker led the Junior Amateur Tour team with 549. In the final pairing, it was GJC Services win-ning 3 points as Juan Zavala topped his squad with 511.

Sidepot winners were Game 1 – Sam Hitchcock 242 Game 2 –Jason Buenviaje 226 however the Financial Advi-sor’s pot was won by Buddy Lucas 225 for $240 with Leon-ard Ruiz Jr. 2nd place with 223 for $100. Game 3 Super Pot went to Mikey Villarreal 255, quite the contrast from last week where you needed 11 strikes or more to win. The TRUE ANCHOR award goes to a new winner, Barry Couch Jr. collected the honors with a 3 game set of 361.

One more week on the dreaded US Open shot to try and move into the Round Lead, improve your standing, or move up the ladder in the Roll Off seedings. I’m sure most can’t wait for May to get here, since we will be finished with this pattern. Hope to see you all down at Del Rio next Monday in Downey. Have a blessed week everyone!
