THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ANIMAL CONTROLIt is mandatory to obtain a licence for your dog(s). It is valid from January 1st to December 31st of every year and cannot be transfered. The cost is reduced for a spayed or neutered dog.

Are you the owner or guardian of a dog? You must:D Register the animal

D Ensure that it wears its licence at all times

D Keep it on a leash when out walking

D Pick up its droppings

D Make sure that it has adequate amounts of food and water

D Provide it with a safe shelter and the necessary care

D Make sure that it is not in distress and allow no harm or injury to come to it.

D Make sure that it is not a nuisance for the neighbourhood (barking, howling, wandering, etc.)

D Never abandon it

D Have no more than three (3) dogs

Rawdon - Secteurs de collectes / Collection areas

La collecte à trois voies des matières résiduellesLa Municipalité de Rawdon offre la collecte à trois voies, soit le ramassage porte-à-porte des matières résiduelles ainsi divisées :

• Ordures ménagères destinées à l’enfouissement (bac vert, noir ou poubelle conventionnelle, propriété de chacun) • Matières recyclables (bac bleu) • Matières compostables (bac brun)

EncombrantsLes encombrants comprennent tous les articles qui meublent une résidence, mais qui ne peuvent être déposés dans votre bac d’ordures ménagères (meubles, matelas, bicyclette, réservoir, etc.). Les encombrants sont ramassés SANS FRAIS, SUR APPEL SEULEMENT, une fois par mois par un camion spécial. Des frais s’appliqueront pour les biens résultant d’une éviction. Pour effectuer une collecte d’encombrants, veuillez contacter Compo Recycle au 450 882-9186, poste 2.

BranchesLorsque vous coupez vos branches d’arbres, deux possibilités s’offrent à vous afin de vous en départir :

• Collecte résidentielle porte-à-porte : les branches sont acceptées jusqu’à 3 cm (1,5 po) de diamètre, maximum 0,91 m (3 pi) de longueur et attachées en ballots transportables par une personne seule.

• Écocentre : Les branches sont acceptées gratuitement jusqu’à 10 cm (4 po) de diamètre, peu importe la longueur. Les branches plus grosses que 10 cm (4 po) de diamètre, les buches et les souches sont acceptées moyennant des frais (tarif des matériaux de construction/démolition).

Three-way collection of residual wasteThe Municipality of Rawdon offers three-way collection, which means door-to-door waste pickup, divided as shown:

• Domestic waste going to a landfill • Recyclable material (blue bin) • Compostable material (brown bin)

Bulky itemsCumbersome items can be any home furnishing that can’t be disposed of in your regular garbage bin (furniture, mattress, bicycle, tank, etc.). Bulky items will be picked up once a month with a special truck, FREE OF CHARGE, BY CALLING AHEAD. There will be fees for the pick-up of bulky items following an eviction. For cumbersome item pick-up, call Compo Recycle at 450 882-9186, ext. 2.

BranchesWhen you cut branches, you have two options to dispose of them:

• Door-to-door collection; the branches can’t be over 3 cm (1.5 in) in diameter and 0.91 m (3 ft) in length. They must be tied in bundles that can be handled by one person.

• Écocentre: branches up to 10 cm (4 in) in diameter of any length are accepted free of charge. Branches with a diameter over 10 cm (4 in), logs and stumps are accepted for a fee (construction/demolition materials fee).

AUX PROPRIÉTAIRES D’UN SYSTÈME D’ARROSAGE AUTOMATIQUE

Nous désirons vous rappeler que l’article 8.2.2 du règlement 100-02-2 concernant l’utilisation de l’eau potable est en vigueur.

TOUT PROPRIÉTAIRE D’UN SYSTÈME D’ARROSAGE AUTOMATIQUE DOIT MUNIR SON ÉQUIPEMENT DES DISPOSITIFS SUIVANTS :• un détecteur d’humidité automatique ou un interrupteur automatique en cas de pluie, empêchant les cycles d’arrosage lorsque les précipitations atmosphériques suffisent ou lorsque le taux d’humidité du sol est suffisant;

• un dispositif anti-refoulement à pression réduite pour empêcher toute contamination des réseaux de distribution d’eau potable de la Municipalité;

• une vanne électrique destinée à être mise en œuvre par un dispositif de pilotage électrique et servant à la commande automatique de l’arrosage ou du cycle d’arrosage. Celle-ci doit être installée en aval du dispositif anti-refoulement;

• une poignée ou un robinet-vanne à fermeture manuelle servant exclusivement en cas de bris, de mauvais fonctionnement ou pour tout autre cas jugé urgent. La poignée ou le robinet-vanne doit être accessible de l’extérieur.

Toutefois, un système d’arrosage automatique, installé avant l’entrée en vigueur de ce règlement et incompatible avec les exigences de cet article, peut être utilisé, mais doit être mis à niveau. Sinon, il doit être mis hors service ou remplacé avant le 1er janvier 2015.

TO THE OWNERS OF AUTOMATIC WATERING SYSTEMS

We would like to remind you that Article 8.2.2 of by-law 100-02-2 concerning the use of drinking water is effective.

ALL OWNERS OF AN AUTOMATIC WATERING SYSTEM MUST EQUIP THEIR SYSTEM WITH THE FOLLOWING DEVICES:• an automatic humidity sensor or an automatic switch in case of rain, preventing watering cycles when atmospheric precipitations are sufficient or when the humidity level of the soil is sufficient;

• a reduced pressure anti-backflow device to prevent any contamination of the municipal drinking water distribution network;

• an electric valve operated by an electric control device to ensure automatic command of irrigation or of the watering cycle. It must be installed below the anti-backflow device;

• a handle or manual gate valve used exclusively in case of a breakdown, a malfunction or for any emergency situation. The handle or gate valve must be accessible from the outside.

Any automatic watering system installed before the coming into effect of this by-law, incompatible with the requirements of this article, can be used but must be upgraded. Otherwise, it must be shut down or replaced before January 1st 2015.
