All Students are Ready, Responsible and Respectful
News Bytes Stomp Out Bullying October is Bullying Aware-ness Month. We are going to wear blue on Monday, October 12th to Stomp Out Bullying! All students and staff are encouraged to wear blue on Monday, October 12th! During October, we will be sharing information with students about bullying. Although October recognizes dealing with bullying in schools, we make sure students un-derstand the need for empathy and getting along with others all year long through PARRT lessons and guidance lessons.
For additional information about the district's bullying policies, please feel free to contact Chris Nelson or Shannon Kehoe.

There will be interactive demos that teach kids of all ages about the natural world around them. We’ll levitate things, launch pumpkins on our trebuchet, do the “mentos and diet pepsi demo,” make dragon's breath flames, play with numbers, be amazed by strong magnets, make snow, see models of eyes and hearts, learn about the human body, see how chemistry allows us to create useful substances, make ice cream with liquid air, see molten glass poured at almost 2000 oF,
and much more. Come have fun and learn about our natural world, all ages are wel-come.

Great Gator Gallop October 15th
What is the “Great Gator Gallop?”
The Great Gator Gallop is a fun run/walk-
athon to raise money for the Viola Gibson PTA
and is our school’s primary fundraiser each year.
All Viola Gibson Students and Staff (parents are
invited too!) run/walk around the Gibson School
Trail with their classmates and co-workers for
approximately 45 minutes.
On the 15th there will be music and all
kinds of excitement in the air! Families are en-
couraged to attend to cheer the kids and/or run/
walk with their child! We may even have some
special guests come by to cheer the kids on!
100% of the funds go to Viola Gibson
Elementary. Funds are used to enhance the edu-
cational experience of your child. Donations will
go to purchase technology, classroom supplies,
playground equipment, programs for the children
and events for the families. Each child is encour-
aged to raise a minimum of $40.00.
There are even incentives for the students!
Beside helping their school be a better place, stu-
dents can earn opportunities for prizes! For every
$10 donation, a raffle ticket is earned. The more
donations… the more chances to win! More info
to come on prizes!
What can you do to help with the
Gallop?
Make sure your student brought home a Gator
Gallop packet. Sponsorship funds collection
is already underway!
Encourage your children to ask neighbors,
friends, and family to sponsor them in the Ga-
tor Gallop.
The donations are for participation,
not on a per lap basis.
Help them explain how the money
helps our school, and that this is our
school’s primary fundraiser.
Be sure money is collected at the time
of donation.
Please make checks payable to: Viola
Gibson PTA
Please check with your employer to see if
they will match funds! Rockwell, General
Mills, Alliant Energy are some possibilities.
Please follow their procedures.
Make sure to return those collection enve-
lopes BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 12.
IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR
PRIZES, STUDENTS MUST HAVE
THEIR RAFFLE TICKETS TURNED
IN NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY,
OCTOBER 14TH at 9am.

exciting event. Please email Debbie White
