Victim advocates provide a valuable service for the community by assist- ing victims and protecting their rights. In addition to needed emotional sup- port and crisis intervention, advocates offer information about the criminal justice system and the resources available to the victim. Advocates often act as a liaison between the victim and the officers investigating an incident. Services are provided to victims 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Advocates are asked to work four to six 12-hour shifts per month and attend a meeting each month. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, complete 40-50 hours of training and successfully complete the application process which includes a criminal history check and a background investiga- tion. You got a problem with chemistry? There is help. Free tutoring services are provided every Tuesday from 6:30 – 8 p.m in room 141. This is an open, informal environ-ment for all AP Chemistry and Chemistry II students. This is a volunteer service provided by a chemist with 20+ years professional experience.

A Balance and Fall Prevention Class

Berthoud Area Transportation Service (BATS) is available for Berthoud residents on a demand-response basis, which means that BATS will pick you up at your home and take you to your destination in Berthoud, Love-land or Longmont. Call 532-3049 to make a reservation or for more information. Service is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Berthoud Fire Protection District board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the Berthoud Area Community Center, 248 Welch Ave. Agendas are available two days prior to the meetings by calling 532-2264. All meetings are open to the public.
