Caine Woods Community Association NEWSLETTER July 2017 P.O. Box 4681 • Ocean City, MD 21843-4681 • www.cainewoodsoc.org • [email protected] Message from CWCA President Julie Valcourt CWCA yard sales set for July 8 Start cleaning out your a^cs and closets! Our annual com- munity-wide yard sale will be held Saturday, July 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, July 9. We adverPse the yard sale in local newspapers and ask that you mark your property with balloons so that buyers can find you. If you prefer, you may set up your wares at Fiesta Park. National Night Out Aug. 1 Join the Caine Woods community on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fiesta Park. Members of the OC Police Department will be there to answer any quesPons regarding Caine Woods. This is your opportunity to express your concerns about crime or other police-related issues. The event is open to the public. Hot dogs, hamburgers, beverages and more will be provided; feel free to bring your favorite dessert. We will also have games and acPviPes for the children. Volunteers are always needed to help out in coordinaPng the kids’ games. We should have enough picnic tables, but you may want to bring your own chair. There is no charge for this event, but due to our liability insur- ance, we ask that children be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Please contact Tonja Sas at 410-250-1046 or email [email protected] to volunteer or for more informaPon. And remember, turn on your outdoor lights and then join your neighbors for an enjoyable and informaPve evening. Election of board and officers, plus end-of-summer picnic Aug. 26 Join the fun Saturday, Aug. 26, at Fiesta Park for our end-of- summer picnic from 4 to 6 p.m. We’ll have an array of food, plus plenty of beverages and music. The rain date is Aug. 27. The general membership meePng and elecPon of officers will take place at the picnic. A slate of proposed officers and direc- tors will be presented and voted on by aSending members. NominaPons from the floor may be made at the meePng, provided that prior consent of the nominee has been received by the corresponding secretary 10 days in advance. If you’re interested in serving on the board, please contact any board member to be included in the elec9on. We always welcome volunteers to help out at the event and to clean up the park aher the fesPviPes are over. If you would like to volunteer, contact Julie Valcourt at 301-908-7789 or [email protected]. We ask that you do not carry food out from the picnic area. If a house-bound member requests food, please inform the regis- traPon table crew ahead of Pme.
