Cadillac Front Shock Relocator Kit The photos below are from a 1960 Cadillac. All 1958-1970 coil-sprung Caddys are rear-steer vehicles; meaning the steering components are located behind the engine’s cradle; making it more interesting to relocate your shocks when installing air ride. Bear in mind, shock relocating comes down to clearance. We have found that the majority of our Cadillac customers relocate their shocks to the front of the control arm to avoid all of the steering components, which by the way is the same location Cadillac chose to mount the shocks when they introduced factory air ride in 1958. Passenger side bracket shown here on open side of frame with added gusset for reinforcement. Passenger side before bracket install. New EZ shock stud mounts into side of lower control arm. Thanks to Jimmy Hendricks for these photos. Here is another option on a ‘65. These shocks are located outboard of the frame. A true survivor. ’58 Caddy with factory air ride. Passenger side. Driver side. The driver’s side bracket welded in. Final installation completed.
