(MINI PROJECT)

TOPIC:-

  “Employee participation”

INTRODUCTION:-

Employee participation must be a group process, involving groups of

employee and their boss. Employee participation may improve communication

61

Page 62: Cadila Report

7/16/2019 Cadila Report

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/cadila-report 62/75

and cooperation; employee may coordinate with each other, thus saving

management time. Participation improves attitudes and quality of the service

provided.

Employee participation may improve employee’s skills, leadership potential if

employees on a personal level. Employee participation needs to demonstrate

power through fighting management and restricting production. In so doing

may reduce absenteeism. Employee participation may improve relation

between employees and management.

DEFINITION:-

“Employee participation is a process which allows employees to exert some

Influence over their work and the conditions under which they work.”

BACKGROUND OF STUDY:-

As a result of research on the employee participation, a number of types are

available. There are mainly two types of employee participation.

1) Formal employee participation

2) Informal employee participation

62

Page 63: Cadila Report

7/16/2019 Cadila Report

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/cadila-report 63/75

1) Formal employee participation :-

There are many forms of formal participation and many ways to

classify them. Formal participation deals with only three types of

participation, direct participation, representative participation, and

employee ownership.

Direct participation is more frequently initiated by management while

it tends to be initiated by unions or is based on law.

2) Informal employee participation :-

Informal participation approach it from two points of view. The first

looks on participation as a decision process and is interested in how

decisions are made. The second sees participation as a resultant, the

extent to which subordinates are in fact able to influence decisions (or

more frequently, the extent to which they see themselves as

influencing decisions).

ADVANTAGE OF PARTICIPATION:-

• Participation may improve communication and cooperation; workers

communicate with each other instead of requiring all

communications to flow through management, thus saving

management time.

63

Page 64: Cadila Report

7/16/2019 Cadila Report

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/cadila-report 64/75

• Participation increases loyalty and identification with the organization

DISADVANTAGE OF PARTICIPATION:-

• Participation is time consuming. And not everyone has strong desires

for creativity and achievement, or they satisfy these sufficiently off

the job.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:-

• Main objective :-

“To discover some quandary and than try to develop employee

Participation System.”

Some objectives :-

64

Page 65: Cadila Report

7/16/2019 Cadila Report

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/cadila-report 65/75

To know the perception of the employees toward the employee

Participation.

To know the employee thoughts on the existing employee

Participation.”   To know the reason why employees are not prefer to participate

in all

activities of organization.

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY:-

To motivate the employee to take part in all activities of the

organization.

To know the employee willingness and attitude towards the

organization & employee participation system.

To finding loopholes in employee participation system.

To find out employee suggestion and try to improve employee

participation system.
