Cadaver Program
Cadavers are on loan to Moorpark College through the Willed Body Program at UCI
Moorpark College agrees to abide by the rules stipulated by contract with UCI and the UC system
Cadaver Program is a Privilege
Our cadaver program at Moorpark College is a privilege and NOT a right
Cadavers provide a unique and beneficial learning experience not offered at most colleges
Please work hard to remember and abide by all of the rules so that we may maintain our program at Moorpark
UCI reserves the right to revoke our privilege at ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON
Electronic Devices
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN THE LAB ROOM
This includes cell phones, iPads, voice recorders, computers, etc.
All electronic devices MUST be placed in your bag and stored in the cabinets during class.
A phone should NEVER been seen in class (even if walking toward the door to leave)

This is your WARNING
ANY violation of the Electronic Device Policy will result in
Dismissal from class for the day and an F on all assignments for the day
A BIT form will be filed with Behavioral Intervention Team and the Dean of Student Contact
EVEN IF YOU ARE JUST RUNNING TO THE BATHROOM!
Formaldehyde Students who are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant
should consult with their physician prior to taking the class
Formaldehyde is a KNOWN carcinogen (cancer causing agent)
Students should only touch organic material with gloves on
Gloves used for the cadavers are thrown away in the Biohazard bin
Gloves for cadavers must be kept separate from gloves used to handle specimens from other species
Potential Health Effects
Eye – irritation
Skin – may be absorbed through skin, ingestion symptoms, irritation
Ingestion – gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain, may affect liver, kidneys, blood, endocrine system, respiration, cardiovascular system, metabolism, eyes, central nervous system
Inhalation – may cause allergic asthma
Clean up (please)
Clean all bench tops and dissection equipment prior to leaving
Wash your hands
Leave the room cleaner than when you found it!
