Engineering Services Application Specific Cable Designs

Cable USA is a leader in custom engineered cable, coaxial and coil

cord manufacturing. If standard, off-the-shelf cable doesn’t fit your

application, we can design and manufacture a cable or cord to your exact

specifications. We specialize in composite constructions…a variety of

components under a single jacket.

Engineering Services Jacketing Techniques to Accommodate Assembly

For Injection Molded Assembly:

1.) Pressure Extruded

- Smooth & Round

- Compound fills interstices of outer core

- Interstice fill creates wall thickness fluctuations

- Less Compression under molding pressure

- Reduction of blowouts

For Mechanical Assembly:

1.) Semi-Pressure Extruded

- Round with minimal convolutions

- More uniform wall thickness

- Preferred for mechanical rollback

- Workmanship spec usually allows lubricant

2.) Tube Extruded

- Jacket mimics shape of cable core

- Consistent wall thickness

- Preferred for mechanical pushback

- Workmanship spec usually prohibits lubricant
