I – beam setup guidelines

1. I-beam should be mounted parallel to the mobile device runway at such a distance from him, that even when cables are rocking (eg. due to the wind) collision of moving parts and cables with fixed elements of the structure was not possible 2. Size of the I - beam and its supporting structure must be selected according to the applied load, taking into account other relevant conditions. 3. Installation of I – beam must be carried out very carefully and thoroughly, paying particular attention to all connections of the profile sections, which must be equal to - welds on these joints must be flush with the surface of the lower shelf of the beam, after which cable trolleys are rolling on. 4. In case of application of cable trolleys with additional assistance rollers, it should be align these surfaces of the profile, after which the assistance rollers are rolling.

Cable trolleys

All cable trolleys types are completely mounted by UNILIFT. Supply line elements: cable trolleys, towing trolley and end clamp should be placed on the track in the following order: 1. Towing trolley - from the powered unit . 2. Cable trolleys – between towing trolley and end clamp. 3. End clamp – fastened to lower shelf of the I - beam.

Cables

Wires should be placed and tightened on cable supports in a way that prevents bursting strands and isolation if necessary using additional relief ties. Cable placing rules are shown in Unilift catalogs. Overhang between cable trolleys should be evenly distributed and only if necessary can be varied.

Wiring harness insulated clamps

At each lower top of the wiring loop must be installed properly fitted clamp insulated conductors, wherein: - overhang up to 2 m - 1 clamp, - overhang over 2 m - 2 clamps.Insulated clamps should be installed on the fattest cables without the possibility of slippage. Other, thinner wires should be placed in the clamp with the possibility to freely move

Relief rope ties

If necessary, use rope ties to relieve cables, mounting it between cable trolleys and end clamp. Ties should be sufficiently shorter than the maximum distance between the trolleys. In case of possibility of hard dynamic impact, in order to protect the relief ties and other fixing elements, an additional flexible ties should be applied.

Festoon pre-assembly

UNILIFT can provide a pre-assembled festoon on a special support structure with the appropriate I - beam. During the installation of the festoon cable on the device, observe the safety rules. Installation should be carried out in such a manner that the individual moving the trolleys with bundles of cables does not cause any damage

Trolleys test drive

Check the correctness of festoon's trolleys driving over the entire length of the track and especially the area of the beam connections.

Inspection and maintenance of power lines

Inspection of all elements of the supply line must be carried out in periods of about 3 months. Inspection range: 1. Trolley's rollers checkout: - check the roller wear - check the condition of bolted joints. 2. Check the cable fixing at all trolleys and clamps. 3. Check the wiring harness insulated clamps at each lower top of the wiring loop with bolted joints 4. Check the condition of other bolted joints. 5. Check the condition of rope ties. 6. Check the condition of cables.
