Complete this REGISTRATION FORM, re-name it, and email it back to us, as an attachment. We will email the combination for the lock on the door, along with a guide for using the cabin, when we receive the registration. PARKING: The Cabin and the surrounding land is forever protected from development by a CONSERVATION RESTRICTION (CR). One of the conditions of the CR is that vehicle use is limited to forestry and maintenance by the owner/ caretaker. Parking at the TRAILHEAD at the power line at the top of Alexander Hill Rd. is an easy 10-minute hike, south, along the NET to the cabin. (Cross the power line and follow the white blazes.) FACILITIES: There is no electricity, running water, or stove in the cabin, but there is a 5-gallon container of water (from the town water supply). A Porta-Potty will be on site until the moldering toilet is approved and constructed. TENT PLATFORM: One tent platform has been built and two more are planned. RESERVATION AND GROUP SIZE: If there are less than 6 in the group, the party should be prepared to share the

If a group of 6 or more has made a reservation, others will need to use an over-flow tent platform. FIRE PIT: Fires are permitted only in the constructed fire pit. Please cover the fire pit after fire is completely out.TRASH AND GARBAGE: This shelter has a CARRY IN – CARRY OUT policy. Take your trash/garbage with you.CELL PHONE SERVICE: Verizon service is good in the area; AT&T is sometimes spotty. EMERGENCY: Medical: 911. Police: (413) 498-5118. Dispatch: (413) 625-8200. Fire: (413) 498-5100 AMENITIES: In Northfield – a 5-mile hike, west, on Alexander Hill Rd., there are restaurants, a creamie, a grocery store, a convenience store, and a B & B.

Northbound, the next trailhead after the power line at the top of Alexander Hill Rd. is about 2 miles of easy hiking at Bass Road (formerly called White Rd.) in Warwick. The next shelter, northbound, is about 4 miles beyond the Bass Rd Trailhead, on the N side of Mount Grace. Southbound, the next trailhead is on Gulf Rd., about an hour-and-a-half, moderate hike (about 3 miles), along the NET from the cabin. The distance to the next shelter from the cabin is about 15 miles, located near Ruggles Pond at Wendell State Forest. From there the next shelter, south, is the Mosher Trail Shelter, about 10.5 miles further, in Leverett.
