Mrs Alice Syzling 1912 - 2015
Sadly Mrs Alice Syzling passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday 31st
May, at Priorsmead Residential Home in Thetford.
Alice lived much of her early life in Croxton village, but also left to live and
work in London, before returning to Croxton. Alice was known and liked by
everyone, and will be fondly remembered by many of the residents and their
families.
The funeral service will be held at 12 o’clock on Thursday 25th June at West
Suffolk Crematorium in Bury St Edmunds.
There will be family flowers only, however for those who wish to, donations
may be made to Croxton Parish Church.
BE AWARE !!!
Recently some properties in Croxton have been burgled with various possessions including personal items and jewellery, a lawnmower and a
chainsaw among items taken. Please be vigilant and if you observe anything unusual or anybody acting
suspiciously please ring 101 and report it.
It is better to waste a phone call rather than do nothing and allow a crime to take place.

VILLAGE HALL SUMMER FUNCTION —JULY 4th "THE SWINGING 60's"
The "Swinging 60's will follow our usual format of a 2 course meal followed by dancing and reminiscing to "Memory Lane" who provide music more associated with our younger days hence the title. Although I suggested fancy dress in an earlier newsletter, the committee have realised that our shapes are no longer in accord with the fashion of those days so have agreed dress will be casual instead. Bar facilities will be available and a marquee provided on
the patio in case of inclement weather. Doors open at 6.30pm.
Tickets priced at £10 and £5 for children 12 or under will be available shortly from Nick Manderfield, Gerald Goucher, Bob King, Jane Purday, or the village shop.
OIL SYNDICATE
Next orders will be placed on or about 1st July 2015. Please Note; would you kindly order your oil by email or telephone rather than mentioning it to us -
the memory is not what it used to be !!

STANFORD MILITARY TRAINING AREA TOUR 2015
Just a reminder that the tour will be on Wednesday 10th June 2015 with the coach leaving Croxton Village Hall at 5pm. The tour takes about 3 hours so we should be back at the Village Hall by 9pm.
The MOD make no charge for the tour but do accept donations to military charities therefore the cost is likely to be about £10 a head which should cover the cost of the coach and enable us to make a donation to the
charity.
Permission is required for under 18s on the tour so please advise when booking.
There may be a couple of seats still available so if you would like to go, please contact Doug Stephen on 01842 754510 or [email protected]
CROXTON GLASS RECYCLING FACILITIES
In October last year Breckland Council announced that glass/bottles could be placed in home recycling bins. However this would have the effect of diverting glass/bottles away from our recycling facility located at Crox-ton village hall. The recycling facility contributes up to 20% of Parish Council annual revenue, which in turn helps the Parish Council to avoid any increase in precept cost to residents for the last 5 years and more.
We therefore urge you to please continue to use our Croxton recycling facility for your glass/bottles, pa-per, and textiles as before. It may involve a little more effort but will reward you by allowing Parish costs
to you to be kept down !!
DOG FOULING FREE plastic bags are available from the Village Shop for picking up after your animal friend which is all part of being a responsible dog owner. Please show consideration for other residents and also avoid giving
the caring majority of dog owners a bad name. The bags can be put into your green bin

Pleased to say the S.A.C group has picked up again
We had a good visit to Thetford Library. Nine of the group will be doing a three week computer course starting on
11th June on IPad or Tablet, as we were told we are never to old to learn !!
Our day trip to "Cromer End of Pier Show" is now booked, with lunch in Sheringham.
We have been given two Silver Bowls Cups dated 1919 & 1929, engraved with the name of Major E. A. Godfrey If
anybody has any information regarding them we would like to hear please.
A big thank you to Mr & Mrs Goucher for providing the cups.
Friday morning times are as normal - start 10 am and finish between 12 to 1 pm. For more information contact Joy on 01842-820833.
