Homecoming Thanks The Homecoming Carnival last Friday was a huge success! Year after year, our wonderful booster club mangages to increase our sales for this event and last week was no exception. The choir booth collected over 2,400 tickets in sales of deep fried oreos and waters! Thank you to parents and students who supplied donation items for our booth. A special thank you and congratulations to our booster club officers and members for executing a fantastic fundraising event.

Chamber Singers on TV Earlier this month, our very own Chamber Singers became viral on twitter with a Mr. Park arrangement of Mack Hayes “Go Go Astros.” If you have not heard it, head to our twitter account to check it out! News Stations such as ABC, KHOU, KPRC, and even mlb.com (Major League Baseball) posted articles about our Chamber Singers’ performance. Chamber Singers were on KPRC2 for their “Houston Life” show yesterday!. Here is a link to both “Go Go Astros” and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” both arranged by Mr. Park. https://youtu.be/wDHCaF3yAeE - https://youtu.be/tdaOtGy8Tjc

Uniforms All choir students should have a formal choir uniform issued to them by now. If you do not have a choir uniform, you need to see Mr. Stultz or Mr. Park ASAP. If needed, the choir uniform may need to be temporarily altered to ensure that it fits the students. Please remember that ladies will need to wear black, closed-toe formal shoes and men will need to provide a white tux shirt, black bowtie, black cummberbund, and black formal shoes/socks. These uniform items are required and part of the students’ major exam grade. All this information can be found in our handbook. Please begin securing your formal uniform today for the concert tomorrow.

Men’s Night Out On Monday, November 18, all Creek Choir tenors and basses will join the men’s choirs of all CCISD secondary schools for our second annual Men’s Night Out Concert! This is a huge, district-wide, event that involved almost 500 tenors and basses from 6th to 12th grade. The concert is at University Baptist Church in Clear Lake and will begin at 7:00pm. This event is a mandatory major grade for all Concordia and Symphonic Chorale tenors and basses. This event is free and open to the public. Please come and support our tenor/bass singers. We also invite the dads (grandfathers, brothers, etc) to close our concert with the barbershop tag “Good Night Ladies.” A brief rehearsal for this will be a 6:30pm. Come early to grab a seat!

University of Houston Invitational  Each year the University of Houston invites three exceptional high school mixed choirs to perform in an annual showcase concert with the Moores School of Music Concert Chorale. This year, our Symphonic Chorale was invited to be apart of this prestigious opportunity! We will perform at the Moores Opera House on Monday, November 4 at 7pm. This concert is free and open to the public. We would love to see our Creek Choir parents and community supporting Symphonic Chorale and the other fantastic high school choirs!  Winter Follies After our Fall Concert, we begin preparing for our annual Holiday Pop Show, Winter Follies. There will be more information on this event in the future. Winter Follies is on both Friday December 6, and Saturday December 7 and 7pm in the CCHS auditorium. Since we do charge admission to this show, academic eligibility does apply for student participation. If a student has passed all of his/her classes for the first 9-weeks report card, they are eligible to participate in Winter Follies. If a student fails a class for the first report card, they have one opportunity to regain eligibility by the first progress report of the second 9-weeks (P3). Winter Follies involve after school rehearsals during the first week of December. Please take a look on our calendar to ensure you can attend the rehearsals!
