NOTES: Camp Unalayee has been taking kids 10-17 on outdoor adventures since 1949. While at camp possible activities include archery, crafts, swimming, boating, arts, rock-climbing, music, and much more. Each base-camp session also includes multi-day backpacking trips. The hikes are planned to be compatible with campers’ age, interests and abilities. No previous experience is necessary. All equipment is provided by Unalayee. Undocumented Rights Youth Policy Leaders are a youth led organizing project that works with immigrant low-income communities of color. Youth Leaders will conduct research by collecting community opinions, identifying issues and solutions, and work towards immigrant rights policy. Youth leaders will design projects for the community and will be supported throughout the process. Health Rights Youth Policy Leaders conduct community-based research, policy, and organizing. Youth Leaders focus on tobacco education, specifically how low-income communities of color are targeted by tobacco companies. Youth Leaders conduct research by collecting community opinions, identifying health effects, and creating policies on how to stop the tobacco industry from targeting low-income communities of color. Youth Leaders will survey their communities, complete a photo project, and conduct interviews. They will use the data they have collected to create a policy that they feel best protects the health of their community. Reset Career Pathways - Child Development Education (CDE): Position Description: Work with children between the ages of 5 to 15 years old in an educational setting. You are responsible for staffing after school program sites and supervising children, including engaging them in capacity building activities and assisting them with their school assignments.
