o At Montgomery College… Any student who has taken either the SAT or ACT may waive the placement test if their scores are: 

SAT Critical Reading=5

50ACT = 24 or higher

SAT Math = 550

o At the Military Academies… Strong academic programs

•SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)–Required for admission at the majority of colleges and universities–Consists of three tests: Critical Reading, Math, Writing–Each test is scored on a scale of 200-800

•ACT (American College Test)-Accepted in place of the SAT at all four-year colleges and universities–Consists of four tests: English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing (optional)–Top composite score is 36•Accuplacer -Placement test -Primarily used for admission to Montgomery College and other smalle schools -Consists of Reading, Writing and Mathematic.•ASVAB -Similar to a career interest inventory (to determine interests, skills, abilities) -Used for recruitment into the military -Given in March (check in the college/career center)

•TOEFL -Used to determine English proficiency for English language learners.

Connections”5. Type in your username/password. If you do not

have one or forgot, raise your hand and someone will help you.

6. Click on “Colleges” tab. Click “College Search.”7. To explore careers, click the “Careers” tab.

Click “Explore Careers & Clusters” and type in your career interest (ex. Automotive, plumbing, cosmetology, etc.)
