This short story titled “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is a brief story about everyone being equal. This short story takes place in futuristic settings of the year 2081, where George and Hazel Bergeron’s fourteen-year-old son, Harrison is taken away;( by the Handicapper General men) to ensure equality. In “Harrison Bergeron” Vonnegut Jr. describes the unfair means, and burdens citizens’ deal with to promote correspondence, and shows the consequences when individuals go against the newly added 211th,212th, and 213th amendment.

The rising action takes place when Harrison suddenly appears in the news room, rips his handicaps off, and declares himself emperor.
