ABOUT BANKSY• Banksy is a English graffiti artist, political activist, a film director, and a painter

• Banksy is mostly known for his graffiti art and street art

• He doesn’t sell his images but art auctioneers have sold his work before

• Performed in the film, Exit Through the Gift Shop, and was billed as the worlds first disaster movie

• He was nominated for academy award for best documentary

HIS CAREER• Banksy began as a graffiti artist in 1990-1994

• Inspired by local artists and his work as part of the larger Bristol underground scene with Nick walker, Inkie, and 3D

• Steve Lazarides was Banksy’s first agent

• First exhibition was at 33 1/3 Gallery owned by Frank Sosa

21st century by showing how even a graffiti artist can become a professional artist, even while maintaining a anonymous image about his personal life and who he/she is.
