Why Some Other Place?

1. Hunger is a real problem. According to the Feeding America,1 out of 6

kids in America do not know where their next meal will come from.

1 in every 4 children in Texas do not know where their next meal will come from.

Food insecurity is associated with lower scores on physical and mental health exams increased risk of developing diabetes and heart

disease.

2. Contributions directly affect local people Founded in 1968 by local community

members for residents of the Beaumont area.

When no one could help, they were told to go find some other place, thus the name Some Other Place was formed.

S.O.P. is funded solely by donations from concerned people and staffed by hundreds of volunteers. . . people who are "putting there faith to work.“

Hunger isn’t prejudice, anyone and everyone can be affected. $1 can feed up to 4 meals to people in our community.
