TELEVISION (T.V)

The Television is a system or process of

producing on a distant screen a series of

transient visible images, usually with an

accompanying sound signal. Electrical

signals, converted from optical images by a

camera tube, are transmitted by UHF or VHF

radio waves or by cable and reconverted into

optical images by means of a television tube

inside a television set.

1 9 2 8In 1928, a young man by the name of

Philo Farnsworth invented the television system. Farnsworth was only 22 when he invented the tv.

The television he created was called a scanning disk. The scanning disk had a light-detecting device, usually a photoelectric cell, behind it. In the reproducer (the display), a modulated light source, usually used a neon tube, replacing the light detector. As each hole flew by, it produced a scan line.

1 9 3 2In 1932 Charles Francois Jenkins Invented the

“Jenkins JD-30”. The JD-30 is a broadcast/shortwave receiver designed to

connect to a scanning disk set with either a flat plate neon or a crater lamp. It was made in 1932, and was sold with the Jenkins R-400 lens disk scanner. Jenkins took the scanning

disk and made it a little more complex, to eventually get us the televisions we have

today.

CONCLUSION

TV evolved from a simple scanning disk to something used worldwide. There are many great things about TV like getting important information to many people at once. There are also cons to TV such as, bad influences, the wrong image being displayed for anybody to see, and the wrong message being sent out and taken as something acceptable.
