I made this pattern with one little girl in mind. I hope that you have a special girl that is about this size.

Measurements: size 10-12 yearMaterials: 7 balls Classic Elite portland tweed color MC (A)2 contrasting colors (B,C)US 7 knitting needles3 1.5 inch buttonsGauge: 11 stitches = 2 inches

BACKCast on 121 stitches with color B. Begin garter edge, knitting every row, for 4 rows. Change to color C. Knit for 2 rows. Change back to color B and knit for 4 rows. Change to MC, A and begin stockinette stitch for 4 rows.Begin decreases. *Decrease row: K8, SL1, K1, Pass SL over K, K9, SL1, K1, Pass SL over KKnit until last 20 stitches. K2tog, k8, K2tog, K to end.Knit 5 rows even.Repeat these 6 rows 10x more. 22 st per side have been decreased. 44 total decreased stitches. 77 stitches remaining.Knit until piece measures 13 inches from cast on edge. Ending with a WS row.Bind off for armhole-Next row, (RS) bind off 4 st at beginning of next 2 rows AND AT THE SAME TIME begin garter stitch. (69 stitches)Bind off 2 st at beginning of next 4 rows (continuing in garter) 61stitches.Continue even, continuing in garter for 4 more rows.Change back to stockinette and knit even until armhole measures 7 inches, ending with a WS row.

On purl row, cast on 3 where you bound off 3. Continue even until armhole measures 5 1/2 inches. Reverse neck shaping and shoulder shaping as for left front.

SLEEVESCO 40 st with color A. Begin garter stitch K4 rows in B, 2 rows in C, 4 rows in B.Change to MC, A, begin stockinette, and K for 6 rows.Next row, RS, begin Increases:Increase as follows: K1, Make 1, Knit to last stitch, Make 1, K1. (42 st)work 9 rows evenRepeat these 10 rows 7x more (56 stitches)Work until sleeve measures 14 inches from cast on edge.Bind off 3 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. (50 st)Next row RS: k2, K2tog, K to last 4 stitches, SSK, K2.Next row WS: purl.Repeat these 2 rows 12x more, 24 stitches remain.THEN start to decrease as follows:Continue decreases on RS as established. Begin decreases on WS as follows: P2, P2 tog, P to last 4 stitches, P2 tog, P2. Repeat these last 2 rows until 8 stitches remain. Bind off.

NECKBANDJoin shoulder seams.With right side facing, and color A, Slip 8 stitches on right front neck holder onto needle, pick up and K18 stitches up right front neck, 4 stitches along right back K21 stitches off holder, pick up 4 stitches along left back, 16 stitches down left front K 8 stitches across left holder. Work in garter for 8 rows, REMEMBERING buttonhole. Bind off all stitches, loosely. (But not too loose.)

TO MAKE UPSew sleeves into armholes. Join side and sleeve seams. Hand wash in cold water, block to measurements.

Put this on your little girl and sing and dance!
