Malagasy is the native language spoken on the island of Madagascar. French is also widely spoken in towns and is the language used in business and the Government. Some English is also spoken in the capital city and in major tourist areas.

The reason French is so widely spoken in Madagascar is because the French once ruled Madagascar and other countries. These countries then became part of the French empire. The countries that did not regain their independance are now known as the overseas departments.

On the island of Madagascar Rice is the staple of their diet the natives have

created dozens of amazing dishes using rice. They usually eat mounds of rice

topped of with either meat, fish or vegetables. They also have a national

snack called Koba, a pate of rice, bananas, and peanuts . Excellent French dishes are served in the finest hotels and restaurants

around the island.

football, boxing, judo, tennis, basketball and various other games. From high school to the national level, the sports of Madagascar are practiced by many people of Madagascar the country also participates in the international competitions especially in the field of Athletics

About MadagascarMadagascar is Most famous for its lemurs,

there are over 80 different species of lemurs ranging from the unusual to the utterly bizarre. Lemurs are not the only creatures that roam the island, there are also Flying foxes , Aye-ayes, Blue couas, Chameleons, Gekos and strange frogs. About 75% of the species livng in Madagascar cannot be found anywhere else on the planet.
