• Raleigh is the state capital of North Carolina which is only about an hour away from Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Charlotte
• Charlotte is a major city in North Carolina and a four hour drive from Goldsboro.
State facts
• The state bird is a cardinal.
• State animal is a squirrel.
• A major city in North Carolina is Charlotte.
• The state dog is a Plott Hound.

Andrew Jackson
• Andrew Jackson was the seventh president in the United States. He was born in Raleigh in 1808. Although he was a southerner he did not support there beliefs in slavery.
James Knox Polk
• He was born in Pineville in 1795. He graduated in university were he ranked top in his class. After he had his career and became the eleventh President.
Andrew Johnson
• Although I do not know much about Andrew Johnson I know that he was the seventeenth president plus a famous Cherokee Indian chief named Jaunaluskain served as a warrior under him.
Michael Jordan
• Michael Jordan like most people know was a NBA champion for the Chicago Bulls even though he plays basket ball he still calls himself an old country boy.

• North Carolina is in the southeast region. North Carolina location is 34 degrees north and 80 degrees west.
What is the state nick name?
• The state nick name is “The Tar Heel State”. The way that this state got it’s name is because the British were crossing a lake called the “Tar lake” and when they got out they had tar on the bottom of there shoes!

• The current event in North Carolina is about a company that crashed down and it was felt a very far way away. Many people survived but at least three people died.
