The Many Uses for Google Earth

Planning your next vacation is easy with Google Earth.

Start by clicking the directions tab in the upper right corner of the screen under the search menu.

In the FROM data entry box entering your starting location and in the TO data entry box enter your ending location.

Google Earth quickly generates a path for you to follow highlighted in purple Google Earth .

Google Earth also shows picture Icons of sites to see along the way clicking on a picture will allow you to see the site and provides a brief description of the site.

Google Earth also allows a person to see the routes and roads they will be on before they even begin the trip allowing the person to see what lies ahead.

Google Earth allows a user to see places all over the world from the comfort of their couch.

Users of Google Earth are able to see locations around the world by simply typing the name of the landmark they wish to see in the fly to data entry box.

After typing in the landmark Google automatically takes you to that destination.

Google Earth also automatically generates information and pictures of the landmark.

See the World

Google Earth can be used to view historical cities all over the world.

You can view older imagery of the earth. Explore the past and see how locations have changed over time.

One way to view old cities is by clicking gallery in the layers portion in the bottom right corner of Google Earth.

For example if you type in Rome Google Earth will automatically bring you to Rome and you can click any point on the map and view interesting information about that place.

Viewing weather is easier with Google Earth.

Simply check the weather box and the Radar box in the bottom right hand corner of layers box and then type in your city in the fly to box.

Google Earth can be used to see the Moon. On the top toolbar click the image of the

planet and on the drop down menu click the moon.

Images of the moon are available to click on and view.

Viewing Mars is also possible by clicking Mars instead of the moon.

Google Earth is not just for History and Geography Classes. Google Earth can also be used to help users and students learn about astrology.

Students can easily view constellations by clicking on the planet icon and on the drop down options clicking sky.

Google earth automatically generates the night sky with all the constellations mapped out and named.
