pendent Order of Odd Fellows of Love-land and the Berthoud United Meth-odist Church are partnering to hold a Dutch Hop in the Odd Fellows building. They will be serving bratwursts, kraut and potatoes and the church will be providing homemade desserts as well as coffee and punch. The Odd Fel-lows will also have several items for a silent auction. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to help sup-port these two organizations, you can purchase tickets to the event and the tickets will be given to the volunteers that are helping with the Loveland and Berthoud flood recovery efforts to give them an evening out.

teer Services Department is looking for volunteers to greet guests and provide assistance to people entering the main lobby at the new Stepping Stones Adult Day Program facility in Loveland. Stepping Stones, a service of McKee Medical Center, provides a safe, caring environment where partic-ipants can socialize, build friendships and enjoy stimulating activities. The volunteer position requires individuals who enjoy working with people, have a caring attitude, a willingness to seek information, and the ability to pro-mote goodwill. Volunteers must also have excellent communication skills.

Shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications are avail-able by calling Melissa Wiederspan at 635-4166.

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is releasing guide-lines for grant requests to assist in flood relief and recovery efforts in Larimer County, and it is encouraging nonprofits and governmental entities to review the guidelines and apply if they qualify.

The Community Foundation created three charitable funds to address in-termediate and long-term flood relief and recovery needs within Larimer County in response to last month’s devastating floods. The funds cover the following areas:

· Estes Park and its canyon commu-nities (Drake and above)

· Loveland and its canyon commu-nities (below Drake), including Little Thompson River area

· Poudre River communitiesFunding requests from nonprofit

organizations and governmental enti-

ties for projects related to the 2013 floods are now being accepted via an application form on the Community Foundation’s website (www.NoCoFoun-dation.org).

Applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made over the course of three funding cycles (ad-ditional funding cycles may be added based on availability of funds). The application deadlines are:

· Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m.· Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.Applicants should visit the Com-

The 17th Annual Secret Santas for the Elderly is currently seeking volunteers. The purpose of the Santas is to bring a smile and feeling of love and encouragement to elderly by pro-viding a loving visitor.Volunteers will be paired with an adopted resident living in a nursing or assisted living home in Larimer County. A list is also provided if you’d like to take a simple gift along. Since 1996 the nonprofit group has organized more than 7,300 visits to elderly.
