also allow material to be safely lifted to the work area

without ascending and descending a ladder. The stair

climbing dollies will allow the employer to use totes to

maximize the amount transported materials on each trip

and therefore reduce the number of trips and eliminate the

need to carry material up and down the steps.

three mobile articulating cranes. This equipment will be

used to pick up finished products, roll products to pallets,

and set down the products while reducing the manual

vacuum leave cleanup system. This system will reduce the

need for employees to manually rake leaves during cleanup

periods. As a result, risk of employee injury as repetitive

motions, forceful exertions, and the duration of exposure

will all be decreased.

handling equipment. As a result of the equipment, with the

new lift, staff will be able to perform sit to stand transfer

with 1 person using the mobility devices, such as

Maxi–Move or Sara Stedy. The Maxi–Air Cart, Motor, and

Pads will decrease the number of staff required to move

patients but most importantly it will decrease the risk of

staff injury from lifting and pulling. The Maxi–Air system

can also go with the patient when transferred to the

inpatient unit, therefore decreasing risk of injury to

impatient staff. This will decrease the risk of neck, back,

shoulder, and hand injuries.

wrist injuries, spinal injuries due to minimizing the

awkwardness and extreme weight of equipment being

loaded and unloaded from the truck. The vertical mast lift

will be used in lieu of ladders in confined spaces. It will

allow worker much more mobility and reduce the risk of

injuries due to a serious fall.

on the trailer and it will allow employees to vacuum dirt

and debris from the street and catch basins without use of

unit, Set of coupling jaws– 2.5/3 inch, Extra battery pack &

charger, power load cot and Installation. As a result, the

equipment with the new power load cot and the power

stair chair, we feel like this will reduce that chance of

having back injuries and other injuries associated with

lifting patients. With the ease of the system, using pull

buttons instead of pulling on levers, it will make the

operation of the cot and the system similar to use. The

power hose roller we believe will reduce the risk of crew

members being injured by lifting the heavy hose to drain,

roll and load the hose onto the truck. The hose roller will

also make it easier to move the hose from one location to

another because the roller will be wheeled to the next

location. This eliminates the crew members from having to

carry the hose that same distance.

& Accessories. The auto‐crib 200 & 217 will be used

underneath wrecked vehicles or large objects/machinery

to automatically stabilize these objects as they are raised

to rescue victims. The Zico Cylinder lift be used to remove

large oxygen cylinders to and from ambulances. As a result,

the lift will reduce manual lifting by personnel putting them

at risk for back and shoulder strains, and wrist and hand

injuries from lifting the cylinders.. The Chest compression

system and accessories will be used for CPR compressions

to patients suffering cardiac arrest/heart attack. As a result,

high quality and continuous chest compressions will

provide better outcomes for patients, and will reduce the

risk of injury to personnel's backs, shoulders, and arms

from repetitive motions performing CPR. The Holmatro

CombiTool will be used to extricate victims of car and

machinery accidents. Because it is battery powered, it

reduces the weight of the equipment carried and

eliminates the hydraulic hose which poses a trip hazard on

scene.

BWC awarded $31,973.88 to help purchase a Power Cot &

Power Load System. As a result of the equipment, The

Stryker Power Cot and Power Load System greatly reduces

spinal loading and the loading of peripheral joints (e.g.

shoulders and elbows), thus reducing the chance of injuries

in these commonly damaged areas of the body. With an

increase in call volume each year, and at times minimal

staffing conditions due to multiple alarms at the same

time, this intervention gives members a safe and reliable

way of loading patients into our medic unit.

water to keep dust down, but this saw is dry and eliminates

dust without worrying about slurry. This elimination of dust

would reduce the risk of respiratory issues. Since it is

waterless, we would not have to figure out a way to deliver

water to the unit, which is always difficult and the main

reason you see construction folks not using water.

leveling sensors that immediately stop the unit should it

find itself on an uneven surface, this to prevent the unit

from flipping. The slide out Deck allows you to get closer to

your work minimizing strain on your back and placing

yourself close to the work.

Jack, Tommy Gate. As a result of the equipment, Mast Lift –

The mast lift will be driven to the work location eliminating

the need to carry ladders. Needed tools will be loaded onto

the platform and the lift will be raised to the work location.

This eliminates the need to make multiple trips up and

down a ladder to perform work. The platform with hand

rails provides a safe area to perform the elevated work.

The tommy gate attaches to the rear of the pickup truck. It

raises and lowers loads through a hydraulic pump powered

by an electric motor. The appliance hand truck is a dolly

with a securing strap and load bearing kickstand with

casters that allows large loads to be secured and moved in

a safe manner. The electric power pallet jack electric motor

that powers the lift mechanism and wheels greatly

reducing the force needed to list, start, and stop the load.

place parts on the skid.

patient into the back of the ambulance. This will reduce the

for storage. The Fastback unit will eliminate the need to roll

smaller diameter hose that is too small to be rolled using

the power roller. These units will reduce the lifting, rolling,

and carrying hoses. We will reduce ergonomic injuries

affecting our shoulders, back, and upper extremities.
