• Firefox is preferred browser.

• Restart your computer every night.

– When you keep your computer running, it keeps your current tasks using RAM.

– Restarting the computer cleans up the RAM and makes everything run smoother!

• Create long documents in Word or another text editing application located on your hard drive.

– Then cut and paste and upload into Moodle, ODY, BWA, or Aventa.

– Even on short questions, it’s good to have a backup of your answers!

• Save often– “Submit answer”– “Save” in Word, Excel, or Powerpoint

• Don’t move away from a test or quiz– LMS could then lock you out

• Be prepared before you take a quiz or test– Avoid timing out

• Save work to proper folder in your “Documents” (your hard drive)

• What do you do if you lose the use of your current computer?– Is there another computer in your house

you can use?• Configure it now for BVA

– What other options might you have?• Borrow one from drop-in center• Borrow one from parent or sibling

• What do you do if you lose internet service?– Where are other locations near you have that have WiFi?

• Your school library• Public library• Parents’ work• Relative’s house• Friend’s house

– How are you going to get there?• Walk• Public transportation• Ride bike• Parent or older sibling drives you

• If you are having issues, quit out of Firefox altogether [cmd+Q (Mac) or ctrl+Q (Windows)] relaunch.

• If that doesn’t work, restart.– 9 times out of 10, this

will clear up the problem.

PC CTRL + Q – Quit the current
