ACADEMIC MEETING

An Academic Meeting with experts of Anna University to discuss the PG regulations 2019

was conducted today. Principal Madam Dr.J.Janet presented the new regulations 2019 for

the PG courses along with Heads of various departments. The experts were Dr. Kurian

Joseph, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, CEG Campus, Anna University,

Dr. N. Selvakumar,Professor, Department of Textile Technology, ACT Campus, Anna

University, Dr. P. Thamarai, Principal, Government College of Technology and

Mr. G. Deepak, Regional Manager,FACE.





GLIMPSES OF ACADEMIC MEETING






It was an aura of patriotic fervor at SKCET yesterday owing to the celebrations of 73rd

Independence Day of India. Our beloved Chairperson Madam hoisted the national

tricolor flag and asserted that ‘we should work together so that we can grow much bigger”.

Madam also took the ceremonial salute of the parade by NCC students. Joyfully, the

faculty and students of SKCET and SKASC proclaimed the pledge and conveyed their

greetings by distributing and wearing the tri-colour flag badges. The spirit of freedom and

nationalism was heightened by the cultural performances and literary recital of our

students. The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem and distribution of

sweets and savories to all.

Day 8, the final session of Infosys Campus Connect Webinar Series on "ABCD of IT Foundations" was conducted today in collaboration with Infosys-Chennai by Roy Arnold, Infosys, Chennai. The key take a ways of the session were ‘Introduction to digital data, What is big data? What made it bigger? Big data landscape, Introduction to Apache Hadoop, Types of analytics and Block chain concepts’.

OUTREACH PROGRAMME – SOM

As part of Outreach Program, SoM II year students have visited the Children Orphanage

at Podanur along with Dr.P.Vijayalakshmi Menon.





HOD INTERACTION- IT

Dr. N Susila, Head of the Department, IT addressed the Accenture Eligible students

regarding the Accenture drive. She motivated the students by saying that sincere effort;

whole hearted commitment and good attitude are essential to get job offers and insisted the

students to follow the same.

Ms.JayanthiSree S, Assistant professor, ECE, has been selected for DST-WOS B fellowship

for which SEC interview was held on 19 July 2019 at Varanasi. Her project is titled

”Automated Fetal Biometric Measurements and analysis of Clinical Obstetric

Ultrasound images using machine vision for fetal anomaly detection”. The project

duration is 3 years and the sanctioned amount is 20 lakhs.
