• In 2000, the Government Logistics Department (GLD) developed green specification for 38 categories of product

• Total amount of the GLD procurement in 2008 was HK$ 3.92 billion (approximately US$ 500 million) and the total value of products with ( pp y ) pgreen spec. was HK$ 1.76 billion

• In 2008, the Environmental Protection Department commissioned a consultancy study to update existing and develop new “green y y p g p gspecifications” to a total of 68 specifications documents.
