Deliveries

We will endeavour to deliver all generic stock items within two working days from receipt of the writtenorder. All customer specific items have individual lead times, which can be confirmed by Sales OrderProcessing. Where the above delivery times cannot be met the Sales Order Processing Team willinform you. Standard delivery services are free of charge subject to a minimum order value of £1,500.

Small Orders

Every effort will be made to ship small orders (e.g. handsets, ex-stock cassettes) within 48 hours ofreceipt, subject to credit status and stock availability. However orders less than £1,500 value will besubject to a per consignment charge of £15.00. Under exceptional circumstances, quicker deliveriescan be achieved by arrangement:

• Next Day Delivery – 10am next day delivery is possible (subject to credit status and stockavailability) for orders received by 2:30pm. The additional charge is £25.00. The Short OrderCode is NDD

• Same Day Delivery – For orders received by 2:30pm (subject to credit status and stockavailability). Additional charges (e.g. Courier fees) are subject to individual quotation. The ShortOrder Code is SDD

Discounts

Trade discounts are based upon quarterly volume purchases of equipment, documentation, repair andtraining services. A standard discount matrix is available from Account Managers on request. Thefollowing items are excluded from the applicable discount matrix:

PCs (when sold excluding applications) 20% discount

Remote Access Module (when sold individually) 30% discount

INDeX 20AT 25% discount

Headsets (GN Netcom) 30% discount

Returns Procedure

All Early Life Failures (ELFs) should be reported to the INDeX Field Support Group (FSG) fordiagnosis/confirmation. Once confirmed, details of the ELF item will be notified to Order Processingby FSG. Order Processing will fax the Reseller offices with the item details. A replacement will beshipped as expediently as possible and a RMA Number issued for return of the faulty item. TheReseller will be charged if the faulty item is not returned in 8 weeks.

The failed equipment should be shipped for the attention of Multimessage with the correspondingRMA documentation and completed Product Return Label.

Full details of the Returns Procedure are given in section 11.

Payment

Our standard terms of payment – 45 days from dates of invoice – apply and will be enforced.Additional discounts are available for payment by Direct Debit in either 7 or 30 days. Contact yourAccount Manager for details.

Warranties

Effective 1st September 1995, all INDeX 100, 200, 400, 1000 and CSLC components including the20DT DECT handset are subject to a 15 month repair or replacement warranty, effective from date ofinvoice. Components in the INDeX DECT range carry a 12 month warranty, whilst INDeX 20AT offersa warranty period of 3 years.

Factored, branded or non-branded products are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the varioussuppliers. Most are repair or replacement warranties within 12 months of invoice date and will beindicated as appropriate within this document.

Repair Procedure

Full details in respect of our policy and procedures for repair activity is detailed in Section 11 of thisdocument, with corresponding pricing.

Please note that all items returned to us which have passed their specified warranty period will beliable for repair charges as quoted.

Cabinets

INDeX supports 3 cabinets, which are similar in design. The difference between the Control Cabinetand the Expansion Cabinet is that the Control Cabinet is supplied with the RS232 wiring harness pre-installed. All Cabinets are supplied with a 3m mains lead for use with either the PSU4 or PSU8.

Power Supplies

The INDeX power supplies are both fully pluggablewithin the Control Unit Cabinet and the ExpansionCabinet. Every Cabinet on the system requires apower supply with a separate mains power source.Power Supplies are supplied without the mains lead.

Rack System

The Rack is an optionalenclosure recommended forany system utilising morethan 2 Cabinets. It issupplied complete with allnecessary fixing brackets.The Rack Mounting Kitconsists of cooling systemand cables (required toinstall up to 5 Cabinets).Each Rack Mounting Kit willsupport 2 cabinets. Rackmounting kits are extra to theRack system.

The PSU4 cansupport up to 4cassettesmaximum andthe PSU8 up to 8,including theCPU. It may beused in either theControl Cabinetor an ExpansionCabinet.

The Central ProcessingUnits (CPUs) of INDeXcontain the centralsystem software. Thesize of system beinginstalled is determinedby which one is used.There are 6 CPUvariants.

INDeX 30

INDeX 30 is a fixed configuration system comprising of CPU,PSU, 4 BRI (T0/S0), 8 Alog extension ports and 16 DSLC ports.IVM Lite voicemail and battery backup systems are available asfield installable options.

INDeX 100-S Cabinet

The INDeX 100-S is designed for use with theCPU 100 only. A total of 4 cassettes slots areavailable, one for the CPU and three further slotsfor any other cassettes – no Link Cassettes orELC’s are supported.

INDeX 100

The CPU 100 can drive up to a maximum of 3cassettes (4 including CPU) but no Link Cassettes.

Digital ExtensionCassettes

Digital Subscriber Line Card(DSLC) supports the 20Series range of DigitalTerminals – specifically the2010, 2030, 2050, 2060,20CC and the 20DS. TheDigital 2B+D technologysupports single twisted pair.All DSLC Cassettes aresupplied complete with a3m, 32 pair cable forconnection to MDF with adedicated connector at thecassette end.Available in 8, 16, 24 and32 channel variants.

Analogue Cassettes

The ‘ALOG’ Cassettes provide7 options of analogue interfacesincluding AC15 PrivateNetworking, Analogue (PABX-POTS) extensions andAnalogue Trunk Lines. Thehybrid ALOGS provide for acombination of exchange linesand extensions and have up to2 power fail circuits maximum.Analogue extension circuitssupport message waiting lights.All Analogue Cassettes aresupplied complete with a 3m,32 pair (twisted pair) cable witha dedicated connection at thecassette end.

Combo Cassette

The Combo is a 24 port cassetteconsisting of 16 DSLC ports and 8alog ports. INDeX DECT

The INDeX DECT is a digital cordless telephonysystem for connection to the INDeX range ofsystems. The system comprises three elements,20DT cordless handsets, DECT Base Stations(DBS) and the Cordless Subscriber Line Cassetteor DECT Control Unit (DCU).

Each DBS provides an area of radio coveragecalled a cell. Normally several DBSs aredeployed at different locations to providecomplete radio coverage for the customer’spremises. Typically each DBS has a range of 60to 600 metres depending on the buildingconstruction. The CSLC or DCU performs thefunctions of an intelligent interface between theINDeX system and the DBS. The user of a 20DTcan make and receive calls anywhere withinrange of a DBS. INDeX DECT can support amaximum capacity of 32 DBS and 128 handsets.

As its name suggests, INDeX DECT usestechnology compliant with the global DECTstandard for digital cordless telephony. Thismeans that in addition to enjoying the high qualitydigital speech, calls to and from a 20DT areentirely secure and cannot be monitored oroverheard. All INDeX DECT equipment is GAPcompatible, allowing the interoperability of otherGAP compatible products. The INDeX DECTalso supports the features of roaming andseamless handover for 20DT users. Roaming isthe ability to make and receive calls when movingbetween the radio coverage areas of differentDBSs. Seamless handover is the ability to movebetween the coverage areas of different DBSsduring a call. The user is not aware of thehandover because there is no change in speechquality.

INDeX DECT DCU can be used with most othertelephone systems that can provide analogueextension ports supporting DTMF or loop diallingand timed-break recall.

Cordless Subscriber Line Card

The CSLC provides the DECT interface directlyinto the INDeX. The CSLC-DBS connects to theCSLC providing DECT coverage. There are twovariants of CSLC, CSLC 8 supporting 8 BaseStations and the CSLC 16 supporting 16 BaseStations.

Base Stations (DECT-DBS and CSLCDBS)

There are two Base Stations variants, the CSLC-DBS and the DECT-DBS. The DBS providesradio coverage of between 60 and 600 metresdepending on building construction. It isconnected to the CSLC or DCU by a singletwisted pair cable of maximum 1km length. EachDBS can support 4 simultaneous 20DT calls. TheCSLC comes in two variants, supporting 8 or 16DBS’s. The DCU supports 8 DBSs as standardor 16 DBSs if the DEB is installed. When usingthe INDeX DECT Link Package a maximum of 32DBS’s may be supported. Supplied with 2m linecord.

20DT Cordless Handsets

The 20DT is a lightweight pocket size cordlesshandset, supplied with user guide and batterygiving 10 hours talk time or 90 hours standby.The 20DT can support the connection of aheadset. The 20DT supports an array of cordlessfeatures but also has access to all the featuresassociated with an Alog 2 wire port.

DECT Control Unit (DCU)

The DECT Control Unit provides an intelligentinterface between the INDeX and the DECT BaseStations. It comprises a wall mounted cabinetwith an integrated PSU and intelligentmotherboard. The motherboard provides theprocessor function of INDeX DECT and interfacesfor 8 DBSs. Also supported by the motherboardare a maximum of 8 DECT Alog Boards (DAB)and the DECT Expansion Board (DEB).

DECT Alog Board (DAB)

The DAB is installed in the DCU and provides 8interface circuits for connection to Alog cassettesin the associated communications system. TheDAB interface circuits support DTMF or loopdialling and timed-break recall. A dedicated DABinterface circuit is required for each 20DT handseton INDeX DECT. The DCU supports 8 DABs,each DAB supports 8 20DT handsets, so themaximum capacity of a single DCU is 64 20DTs.Supplied with DAB 5m cable for connection to theTJF.

DECT Analogue Board (TBR)

Provides 8 analogue interfaces to the host PBXsupporting time break recall. Each handsetrequires a DAB interface. Maximum of 8 DAB’sper DECT Control Unit (64 handsets). The unit issupplied with a DAB 5m cable for connection tothe TJF.

DECT Expansion Board (DEB)

This is installed in the DCU to provide interfacesfor an additional 8 DBSs. A DEB must beinstalled if the total number of DBS to besupported by INDeX DECT is between 9 and 16(i.e. greater than 8). Supplied with DCU/DEB 5mcable for connection to TJF.

DECT Repeater Base Station

The coverage offered by the DECT Base Stationcan sometimes be limited by the ability to runcables to remote areas. The introduction of theDECT Repeater Base Station allows the areacovered by DECT to be increased without theneed to lay more cables. Supplied with a PSUand base station.

DECT Repeater Base StationAdministrator

The DECT Repeater Base Station Administratoris supplied with a cable and associated software.

DECT Directional Antenna

A directional antenna for use with the DECTRepeater Base Station to extend coverage ofINDeX DECT.

20DT Cover

Leather cover for the 20DT with belt clip.

Single Charger

Desktop charger for a single 20DT handset.Supplied with plug top power supply unit.

Headset Adaptor Cable

INDeX Feature Licensing

In order for certain system features and hardwarecomponents to function on the INDeX platformlicence keys are required.

The process adopted is that software licences aresold which comprise either a licence key orlicence keys depending on the specificapplication. Resellers will order the relevantsoftware licence and will be supplied with theappropriate licence key or keys.

Each licence key is a unique 16-digitalphanumeric pass code that is specific to theserial number of each CPU and must be enteredinto the system database via systemprogramming. Although not physical devices thelicence keys are conceptually similar to thedongles. Certain features will not operate withoutthe appropriate software licence.

A licence that enables a certain type of hardwarecomponent typically determines how manydevices of that type can be used. Softwarelicences in this section must be ordered whenrequired and are only automatically supplied asindicated.

This section only describes licence keys that maybe ordered via Order Processing as individualitems. INDeX Voice Manager, Customer CareModules and CT Integrator also contain licencekeys. However the licence keys areautomatically “bundled” as an integratedcomponent within these products and may not beordered as individual items from OrderProcessing.

INDeX Contact Centre Modules Overview

Avaya has created a range of Contact Centre Modules, which allow INDeX users of any size, to provideoutstanding telephone customer service.

INDeX Contact Centre Modules (CCM) are designed to be modular, scalable and cost effective, allowingthe user to select the most suitable modules for their particular business environment. The modules havebeen designed to provide a low cost of entry to allow the management of a Customer Facing Department(CFD) - departments from as few as five telephone staff to fully featured contact centres with up to 400agents.

All INDeX Contact Centre Modules can be provided on pre-installed hardware platforms, ie INDeX CCMServer PCs that include all the relevant required Microsoft NT and SQL licences. These are optimised tocater for the traffic levels and number of Supervisor (client) connections. Also available as a software onlyoption, depending on the customers preferences and business requirements.

INDeX Contact Centre Modules provided as Software Only

Avaya recognises that some BusinessPartners / end users may prefer to install on their ownhardware platforms or licensed copies of Microsoft NT and SQL. The OEM agreement Avaya holdswith Microsoft only entitles the shipment of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Windows NT with completehardware and software solutions. Therefore, in a software only purchase, BusinessPartners arerequired to source their own licensed copies. This cost must be borne in mind by theBusinessPartner. In addition, the versions and service packs required by INDeX Contact CentreModules (CCM) should be verified with INDeX Field Support Group (FSG), as it may change fromtime to time.

Avaya caters for this by providing the INDeX CCM Server components on pre-installed hardwareplatforms. Where customers wish to make use of their own hardware platform, Avaya provide achargeable service where assistance is provided in configuring the PC and resolving issues. This byno means constitutes a guarantee that the system can be made to work, and results in limitedhardware support liability afterwards. To exercise this option, INDeX Field Support Group (FSG)assistance must be sought PRIOR to the order being accepted, such that hardware configurations,requirements and resource planning can take place before a commitment to work on the platform isprovided. This ispriced on an individual basis and may in some rare circumstances conclude that the hardwareplatform selected is not compatible with INDeX CCM.

The three server options are called CCM SPC-5, CCM SPC-10 and CCM SPC-20 to reflect themaximum number of concurrent Supervisors (clients) that may be connected to the server. There isno simple upgrade path from the CCM SPC-5 to the CCM SPC-10 or the CCM SPC-20 andtherefore, careful consideration should be taken to ensure that the correct platform is recommendedto the end user. To that end, the following guidelines are provided on selecting the appropriateserver platform. Selecting the appropriate INDeX CCM Server PC

Consideration should be given to the model of hardware server on which the CCM is provided.Three factors affect the choice of INDeX CCM Server PC:

Supplementary details on Agents, Calls and Supervisors

(1) Number of agents

The higher the number of agents servicing telephone calls concurrently, the higher the volume ofagent state data required to be captured by the Report Manager. In addition, for low number ofagent deployments, it is viable to run CCM and IVM Supervisor (client) applications on the INDeXCCM Server PC, whilst on larger sites, it is recommended that the INDeX CCM Server PC isdedicated to data acquisition and acting as a wallboard server.

(2) Number of calls

The higher the number of calls, the higher the volume of data to be archived for historical analysispurposes, and the greater the size of the INDeX CCM Server PC storage required in order tosupport historical analysis over longer time periods.

(3) Number of Supervisor positions

The manner in which Supervisors configure and access the INDeX CCM Server PC, is throughconnecting an application running on their own desktop PC to the INDeX CCM Server PC. Licensingrestrictions limit the number of concurrent desktop PC connections to INDeX CCM Server PC to amaximum of 5 on the CCM Server PC (CCM SPC-5) configuration. This may be increased to 10 onthe INDeX CCM Server PC (CCM SPC-10), and then 20 on the INDeX CCM Server PC (CCM SPC-20), subject to the appropriate Microsoft NT licence pack being installed.

Therefore, if the customer requirement within the next 24 months is likely to exceed 5 connections, itis recommended that INDeX CCM Server PC (CCM SPC-10) be deployed immediately.

Note: the CCM clients may be loaded on any Windows 32 bit PC and do not require the purchase ofany hardware from Avaya. The specification of such a PC must adhere to the following minimumrequirement:

Pentium P266, 64 MB RAM, Windows 95, 98 or NT-4 Workstation, CD-ROM, 3.5” floppy, screen,keyboard, mouse, network card.

It is possible to have the option of a rack mountable PC for all CCM Server PCs. This PC is not forthe installation in the INDeX rack, it is for installation in a customer supplied 19” rack. To order thisoption, select the appropriate size INDeX CCM Server PC rack code.

Hardware Components

INDeX CCM Wallboards

Two types of wall mounted wallboard models are supported by INDeX CCM. The first is a 10character single line wallboard. The second is a 22 character two line wallboard. In both cases,information comprising of text or numeric data may be displayed in multiple colours.

For BusinessPartners choosing to exploit the option of purchasing their own INDeX CCM Server PCplatform, it will be necessary to install an INDeX Wallboard Manager Communications card.(See table below)Note: This is a PCI type device.

INDeX ACA Cassette

The INDeX ACA Cassette consists of four individual message modules. Each module (3 of 16seconds and 1 of 60 seconds) can provide music on hold or message storage to create integratedcall sequencing and announcements to callers whilst held in a queue. The ACA cannot deliverestimate time to answer or queue positions, which require the INDeX Queue Manager.(See table below)

Printer

A printer for connection directly to the parallel port of the INDeX CCM Server PC is available. Theprinter is supplied with the required cabling to connect to the INDeX CCM Server PC.

Line Driver Kit

Required if the INDeX CCM is situated more than 5 metres from the INDeX switch. The line driversrequire mains supply. The kit includes line drivers, with cables and plug-top power supplies.

SDX ACD Manager to INDeX CCM Upgrades

Avaya fully supports customers wishing to upgrade previous copies of SDX ACD Manager to INDeX CCM.

The SDX ACD Manager Server PC is NOT capable of running the INDeX CCM Server software, and therefore thepurchase of a CCM Server PC is required. It is recommended that the old SDX ACD Manager Server PC isretained in order to permit historic data to be accessed after CCM upgrade. SDX ACD Manager 5.2aCr4 software isavailable free of charge to any SDX ACD Manager Version 5 user that requires this functionality.

The way in which an upgrade from SDX ACD Manager to INDeX CCM is carried out, is for customers to purchasethe required INDeX CCM combination of software and hardware as a new site would.

Once the SDX ACD Manager dongle is returned to Avaya, a credit will be issued for the equivalent INDeX CCMAgent Licence Pack.

ACD Wallboards provide information using the call statistics collected by the SDX ACD Manager. TheSDX ACD Manager can support up to 16 Scrolling Wallboards and 20 Call Indicator Wallboards plus theWindows Wallboards, which may be displayed on any number of PCs (connected to a suitable LAN).

Remote Access Kit v3.1

The Remote Access kits allow maintainers and ACD Supervisors to access ACD systems remotelyvia a modem link. They allow the headquarters PC monitor and program the ACD. It also allowsaccess to the SDX programming.

For maintenance purposes DOS files may be transferred to and from the ACD via the modem link.The ACD is referred to as the host end and the PC from which you are dialling is termed theHeadquarters.

The INDeX Voice Manger Lite is an entry-level voice messaging system equivalent to 4 port/180minute systems. IVM Lite delivers all the benefits of visual voice found on IVM in a lower costpackage.

SDX VM 5.6 & 5.7 have only limited programs available due to the restrictions of the dongle.

When upgrading to a VM 5.9, the maximum programs (99) are required. Please check the label onyour existing dongle. If the label does not state “Max program 99” then a new dongle is required.If a new dongle is required, then a purchase order should be raised stating VM 5.9 upgrade,installation details (eg 12 ports – 4 hours) and “DONGLE ONLY” required.

SDX VM Upgrades

Note: we will not accept any hardware orDialogic voice/fax cards for credit.

Existing SDX Voice Managers corresponding tothe system sizes listed at the beginning of thissection can be upgraded to provide either largersystems and/or increased functionality.

The upgrade comprises of a new dongle (asecurity device that plugs into the rear of a PC)plus additional Dialogic cards and/or larger harddisk where necessary. It may also be necessaryto upgrade the PC platform to one capable ofsupporting 32 channels. This will be requiredwhen upgrading to more ports on an SDXPC3.75 or SDX PC4, or more than 16 ports onall other platforms.

Standard voice product discounts apply to SDXVoice Manager system upgrades. To determinethe cost of an upgrade for an SDX basedsystem, calculate the difference in RSP (usingcurrent price list) between the installed and therequired system and add to this the upgradecharge indicated below.

Quality service

Fully trained engineers We offer a high quality repair service for all our products.• All work is completed by fully trained engineers.

Quality components • Only quality components approved for manufacturing are used.15 month repair warranty • All equipment has a full 15 month warranty from the date of sale.

Some equipment sold is manufactured by other companies and is,therefore, subject to their warranty terms. This includes GN Netcomheadsets, computer monitors and keyboards, modems and printers.

3 month repair warranty • All repaired equipment has a full 3 month warranty from the date ofrepair.

Warranty cover • Our warranty covers faults due to improper design, manufacture orrepair by us. Equipment which has been abused, tampered with,improperly installed or maintained, is not covered by our warranty.

What we will do

Replace when necessary • Replace any warranty repair considered to be beyond economicrepair (due to faulty workmanship, materials or manufacture) withanother unit of similar type and specification. In addition, we willreplace selected higher volume repairs with an equivalent unit toprovide a faster turn-around time and better service.

Soak test No Fault Founds • Soak test all No Fault Found units for a minimum of 12 hours toensure fault free operation.

Clean all repairs • All PCBs and units will be cleaned and re-boxed as far as is practicalto ensure the condition of returned equipment is suitable for use of acustomer on another site.

Upgrade if possible • Returned equipment is modified to incorporate any engineeringdevelopments to improve performance, reliability or field compatibility(subject to limitations of returned hardware at our discretion).

Charge standard fixed prices • We will charge standard, fixed repair prices, as per the enclosed pricelist, for all out of warranty repairs. These charges will apply to all itemsreturned for repair. Resellers who need to approve charges or whoneed Purchase Orders to be completed before repairs are carried out,must establish separate, mutually agreed, written arrangements withus beforehand.

What we will NOT do

No repair of site damage • Replace parts that have been damaged or removed duringinstallation or maintenance (except at our discretion). In such events,Repair Administration will contact customers and seek authority toproceed on a chargeable basis before doing work.

No repair if too costly • Repair a unit, which in our opinion, is damaged or faulty to such anextent that it is not safe, practical or cost effective to do so.

Repair Policy

Warranty repairs in 10 days • We aim to process and return all Warranty repairs within 10 workingdays (subject to spares availability) of receipt.

Non-warranty repairs in 10days

• We aim to process and return all non-warranty repairs within 10working days (subject to spares availability) of receipt. Customers willbe notified of the repair changes if an item is out of warranty andwritten authority is required to proceed.

No return delivery charges • No delivery charges are applied for the return of repairs within the UK.Obsolete Products • A number of our products have become or are becoming obsolete,

with spares no longer being available. These include all early PCmodels, (non-Windows) Operator Consoles, and many products madeover 5 years ago. We will endeavour to repair all products sent to us,but cannot guarantee to repair PCs which are more than 3 years old.These will be returned unrepaired if we are unable to fix them.

Standard Repair Returns procedure

Please ship all returns for the attention of INDeX Repair Centre, c/oMultimessage Systems Ltd, Units 1 & 2 Block 26, Cranborne Industrial Estate,Cranborne Road, Potters Bar, Herts, EN6 3JH, UK (tel: 01707 644480, fax:01707 646745) at cost to the customer. An advice note must accompany eachconsignment, detailing quantities and descriptions of each item for repair andstating the addresses to where repairs are to be returned and invoiced. Contactnames and telephone/fax numbers should also be included.

A product Return Label must be attached to each returned item (see ResellerUpdate Nos. 101 and 102) and completed with reason for return, problem type,date, fault description, site name (where fault arose), name of engineeridentifying fault, reseller name and (for all products being returned as Early-Lifefailures, or for credit) RMA number assigned by our Field Support Group.

Failure to provide the necessary information may result in an item beingreturned unrepaired.

Advance Early-Life Failure Replacement

Where advance replacement of an Early-Life failure is required, report the faultto Field Support Group (FSG tel. no. 01707 364404).FSG will assess whether the problem requires an advance replacement unit orcan be fixed immediately. If an advance replacement is required, FSG willnotify the reporting engineer of the Return Material Authorisation (RMA)number. This should be written on the Product Return Label and notified toOrder Processing, who will arrange shipment of the replacement unit.

A Purchase Order number must be advised to Order Processing, as thesereplacements will be invoiced at full RSP. The replacement unit will include acopy of the RMA form.

Credit will only be given on receipt of the faulty unit, including ALL originalpacking and documentation, and with its completed numbered RMA form(providing we accept it as a genuine Early-Life failure) within 10 days ofreplacement issue.

Early-Life Failures

Early-Life failures must follow the standard procedure and must include ALLoriginal packaging and documentation. Failure to comply may result in arejection of the Early-Life failure claim. In this case, or if no RMA is included withthe repair, we will treat the goods as normal warranty returns for repair as perour Repair Policy. Accepted Early-Life failures are exchanged for new stock orcredited in full if covered by Advance Replacement.

Voice Manager, ACD Manager and Windows Operator Console Systems

These products follow the same procedures for repair, return and Early-Lifefailures as all others. Special attention should be paid to packing andcompleteness. Items damaged due to inadequate packing will not be repairedfree of charge under warranty by us. Products returned incomplete to us will berepaired and sent back equally incomplete to the customer, or credited, at ourdiscretion. Customers are recommended to return ONLY the faulty componentof these systems to minimise risk of damage to other items.

Upgrades

Software or hardware may be upgraded to later versions or PCS levelsaccording to information published in Main Price List or through Resellerupdates. When an upgrade is required, the item to be upgraded should be sentto Repair Administration, together with a Purchase Order specifying the upgraderequired. Repair Administration will contact the Reseller if additional informationis needed. If no Purchase Order is sent with items for chargeable upgrades, wewill not carry out the upgrade but will request a formal Purchase Order beforeproceeding

International Customers

Our Repair Policy and Procedures will operate identically for InternationalCustomers as for UK customers, but with the following exceptions:

A longer time will be allowed for returns and repair turnaround in recognition ofthe additional freight requirement.

The costs of freight for returns to us, and of chargeable repairs outwards fromus, will be borne by the customer. Warranty repairs will be shipped via surfacetransport FOC, or by the air at the customer’s cost.

Special care should be taken over packing.

Where customers return an Operator Console for genuine repair and weare unable to repair it, a concessionary price (net) will be offered to the customer for an exchange replacementWindows Operator Console (WOC). Resellers must ensure that SDX sites are upgraded to INDeX or 5.1.13software before a new WOC is installed.

Customers must note that SDX Operator Consoles are vulnerable to transit damage and must be packedaccordingly.

INDeX CT Integrator – Overview Page 13.1

INDeX CT IntegratorThe INDeX CT Integrator runs on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 Server platform. Theminimum level of INDeX software required to support the INDeX CT Integrator is level 9.0.2.INDeX CT Integrator will work with all INDeX sizes (from 30 to 1000), with either a CPU-V ora CPU-X.

LicensingPurchase of the INDeX CT Integrator SDK or Runtime enables CTI for all devices andcomputers connected to the INDeX switch.

ACD type applications that require agent related events, also require the CCM Agent LicencePack to be installed. This must be set to the number of roaming agents that will be logged into the INDeX. Please refer to the CCM price list section.

RequirementsFor INDeX CT Integrator to be installed, the following must be present:

• An INDeX running Level 9.0.2 software or later.

• A PC running Windows NT or Windows 2000 for the server. This may be an existing NTserver that is simply connected to the INDeX via a LAN connection (if the INDeX has anINDeX Voice Manager installed) or via a serial cable. For more than 10 client computers,Windows NT Server or Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server is required

• Client PCs running 32 bit windows (eg. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 orWindows 2000)

• The appropriate licences enabled on the INDeX CPU

• The LAN should be set up to use the TCP/IP or IPX protocol

The INDeX CSTA-1 gateway is an optional component of INDeX CT Integrator, and requiresthe purchase of the LIC-CTINT-RUN software licence.

The INDeX Digital Recorder may be configured from 4 concurrent channels up to a total of16 channels per unit. INDeX Workflow ManagerThe INDeX Workflow Manager has two components. The first is The INDeX WorkflowDesigner that allows the off-line creation of custom campaigns by the supervisor. Up to 4supervisor positions may be enabled per system. The second component is The INDeXWorkflow Client, which is used by agents at run time to have access to the campaign scripts.

The product requires a Windows NT-4 server platform with a copy of Microsoft SQL server. Itis possible to purchase a CCM server PC for this purpose if required, or to use a customers’own PC platform. The server platform delivering CCM should not be used for this product,and a dedicated server is recommended.
