Business Resources

This is a new Grow MN program seeking to highlight Minnesotans robust supply chain and increase business-to-business activity in the state. It creates value for the MN businesses who want the advantages of sourcing from local suppliers: accessibility, rapid delivery, shared networks, and trusted quality. It also creates value for suppliers looking for new business opportunities with MN based customers. This new searchable database is to launch later this year and will be used by companies around the state- including some of MN largest Fortune 500 companies that would like to fi nd and do business with MN suppliers.

This searchable data base is created by the Minnesota Chamber for the Grow MN partners. The listing is free if you have received a Grow MN business visit from a participating Grow MN Chamber. The Waseca Area Chamber is a Grow MN member and has scheduled Grow MN visits to over 80 businesses in the past years with our members. If you would like to have our chamber Grow MN team visit with your company to learn all about your business, please give us a call and schedule one today.

The Minnesota Chamber announces the new labor market tool, the MN Job Match, and their partnership with the RealTime Talent Exchange. This has received signifi cant fi nancial support from the MN Legislature and the Offi ce of Higher Education.

This tool is designed to bring employ-ers and candidates together in a more effi cient manner, saving both par-ties time and money. This is not your average job board; it has a blind match technology pre-screening of candidates to fi nd the right fi t for you faster, matching job seekers to your job openings. This tool revolution-izes the recruiting process connecting your business with quality candidates. It uses sophisticated blind matching algorithms to connect job seekers and employers based on skills, interests and job requirements.

With your posting you are provided with integrated promotion through

social media and email, automated candidate pool demographic reports, automatic posting to other local, regional and national job sites. Job seekers never pay and this off ers an aff ordable cost to the employer.

Waseca Area Chamber is in partner-ship as a Grow MN member and they are bringing this tool to all Grow MN Chamber partners. Check out the Waseca Chamber 's new Job Match

portal coming soon, where em-ployers can login to post jobs, while job seekers can easily apply for opportunities. The

match happens when candidates apply to work in a community. They’ll answer occupation- specifi c questions driven by more than 1000,000 unique job characteristics and backed by exten-sive research. Their application will be scored, screened and stack ranked so employers can fi nd the best person for the job faster than ever before.

As the chair elect board member of Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce I would like to extend a special thank you to all our members for their continued support of our organization. We have had a such a great year so far! From the Farm & City Luncheon early in the year to the Walk to the Park and the Chamber Golf Outing this summer. Your support has been outstanding!

I also want to remind everyone why we are here. Simply stated, we are here to serve you, the business owners of Waseca, and to make sure that your voices are heard. To do this, we have developed quite a few chamber programs that focus on diff erent areas important to our membership. To see a list of all the programs you can go to www.wasecachamber.com and under the “Chamber” tab you will see a link to “Chamber Programs”.

One of the programs you will see listed is the Government Aff airs Division. The board works to enhance the lines of communication between local area businesses, the Waseca City Council, Waseca County Commissioners, and the school board. The chamber’s purpose in participating in this program is to advocate on your behalf with regards to economic decisions and policies that are aff ecting your businesses.

You will also see that we have a Membership Retention/Growth/Services Division. This program not only promotes membership with the chamber itself but also works to develop networking opportunities, educational events, and leadership development for both you and your employees.

I would simply ask that you go online and check out the chamber’s website and take advantage of everything that the chamber has to off er. Hold a Business After Hours Mixer to showcase your business and network with other area leaders. Nominate a business or local professional for an award to recognize their contribution to the community. Or join one of the many committees and participate in shaping Waseca’s business climate now and into the future.

Again, thank you so much for your continued support of the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce.
