Knowledge of the roots & philosophy of yoga
Knowledge of famous yogis
Knowledge of a spiritual practice
As students develop their practice, many will find they need a deeper understanding of yoga. It is your responsibility to know the answers.
What is your preferred style? ( power or flow, Kundalini, Restorative, Meditation) Practice teaching ‐ Substitute and Volunteer Teaching
‐ Take classes at the studio where you want to teach to make sure you want to teach this
style, under these circumstances, following their guidelines ‐ take the classes the
person in charge of hiring takes so they recognize you & your practice
‐ Starting Points ‐ Health Clubs, Yoga Centers, Adult Schools/Community Centers, YMCA, etc...
‐ Private clients, teaching in your home, ‐ teaching free in nature/outdoors
‐ Volunteer to assist a popular instructor (after doing their class for a long time)
so students will recognize you and your practice
‐ Go on retreats of popular instructors ‐ students will get to know you &
recognize your name if you are subbing/teaching
