design was too random• Rather, design should reflect the business

• Comprises five basic parts:– Strategic apex– Operating core– Middle line– Technostructure– Support staff
• And five configurations:– Simple structure– Professional bureaucracy– Machine bureaucracy– Divisionalised form– Adhocracy
