Miguel makes a suggestion-> “Perhaps we should…”: another polite way of making suggestion. -> Just: shows what he is suggesting is no change from the normal way of doing thingsÞHe says: “ if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” ( idiom: don’t change something

if it is already working fine”)

Charles:• Shows he has a suggestion: “I’ve got a suggestion.”• Use a careful, polite ways to introduce the suggestion (Since

he’s talking to boss and not sure everyone will agree with him)

-> “ It’s just an idea, but how about…”: Normal way of making a suggestion-> “It 'just an idea. But…” make s it extra polite

Instead of “ how about”, you can say “ what about”. “How about”/”what about” + V-ing• How about washing the dishes• It’s just an idea, but what about eating lunch toghether?These sometimes followed by a phrase ( or sentence.) More common with “how about”• How about you wash the dishes and I dry?• How about we have lunch together?
