Are you an excellent public speaker with experience in marketing or sales? Red Earth is growing and we are looking for a driven Business Development Officer who is passionate about being part of an organisation that connects people to remote Indigenous Australia. This role will be primarily Sydney based with opportunity to travel to interstate capital cities and to our beautiful partner regions in Arnhem Land, Central Australia and Cape York. This is an opportunity to join us at an important stage in our maturation as we scale rapidly to ‘close the gap’ and play a leading role in the emerging Australian social-enterprise sector. Team Outline We are a small social enterprise with 9 employees (FTE) passionate about connecting people to remote Indigenous Australia. We do this by building 10-day immersion programs where small groups travel to remote Indigenous communities and homelands to learn from Elders, visit cultural sites, and volunteer on a service project in the community. As we are a small organisation, you will work closely with all members of the team and develop an understanding of all facets of our business. You will be based in our Sydney office with monthly travel to interstate capital cities and the chance to travel twice a year to remote areas in either Arnhem Land or Central Australia. You will be high-energy, have a pragmatic ‘get things done’ approach to client relationships, and a real passion for Indigenous Australia and working with young people. Role Outline You will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with the Programming and Operations teams to execute sales strategies for groups travelling to Arnhem Land and Central Australia. Specifically, the role has the following main components: Key Relationships Reports to Business Development Manager Liaises with Program Director & Director of Operations Red Earth schools & groups travelling to Arnhem Land and Central Australia Location Sydney CBD office 20 days (approx.) of travel to remote communities per year Monthly travel to state capitals for client meetings Term Full-Time Start date: Monday 23 rd September 2019 Value $70,000 p.a. base salary including super $10,000 p.a. potential performance bonus including super 6 weeks paid annual leave & days in lieu

1. Frontline Sales: you will follow up on leads, present to groups (especially groups of parents and students), and for many clients, you will be the face of Red Earth.

2. Social Media and Digital Marketing: you will oversee and implement Red Earth’s digital presence to increase inbound sales.

3. Product Development: you will work closely with the BDM and delivery team to ensure client feedback is looped back into product improvements, and to develop new products.

You will be involved in each stage of our sales cycle and develop a detailed understanding of all facets of Red Earth’s operations. Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Experience in sales and marketing, especially in a practical, hands-on role Experience working in the Education or Tourism sectors Excellent public speaking skills Excellent interpersonal skills Highly skilled in both the Microsoft and Google suites Tertiary qualification ideal but not essential
