Business Design Intern for the HIVE Innovation Network in India

About the HIVE The HIVE is a network of academic institutions, grassroots innovators, industrialists, domain experts, non-governmental organizations, established entrepreneurs and government agencies. Through such a network, it is proposed to proactively address the basic human needs and social development needs of rural and economically under developed segments, by mentoring deserving individuals towards innovation and enterprise creation. The HIVE’s goals include:

1. Create an ecosystem across the country to spur innovation and entrepreneurship. This will be done by investing in and supporting innovators/entrepreneurs through networks, funding and on the ground and lab support either in house or through partners

2. Organize events that will help in disseminating information and involve people both nationally and internationally from all walks of life to participate in building an innovation culture in India.

3. Provide consulting services to organizations wanting to work with technologies supporting India’s growth.

About the Job HIVE is looking for candidates with research and operational experience in taking offerings to market, whether as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur. Candidates will work collaboratively, creatively, and flexibly within interdisciplinary teams and grassroot level entrepreneurs. we require individuals with strong empathy and passion to help grassroots innovators and entrepreneurs. Internship responsibilities include:

• Research the grassroot level innovation landscape in India and develop business plan for HIVE to support and nurture grassroot level entrepreneurs.

• Shape strategy and contribute to the act of weaving together insights and recommendations into a clear actionable plan for HIVE.

Qualifications  

• A multidisciplinary background with focus on either one or two areas of Marketing (Product or Brand), Product Development, Organizational Behavior, Operations, Finance, etc.

• Prior experience of working at the grassroot level and scaling up businesses is desirable • Ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment and comfortable with non- hierarchical

organizations. • Affinity for design thinking and innovation • Fluency in English and good communication skills
