About SJIMSt. Joseph's Institute of Management is situated in the heart of metropolitan Bangalore.
The campus through its greenery silences the hustle and bustle of the city. In 1996, St.
Joseph's College of Business Administration (SJCBA) secured approval from AICTE,
New Delhi, for a Two Year Full Time PGDM programme.
In 2007 SJCBA secured approval from the AICTE for offering the Executive PGDM and
PGCM programs. The first batch of Executive PGDM and PGCM were launched in 2007.
In 2016, SJCBA moved to it's new state of the art campus on M.G. Road and was
renamed St. Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM).
SJIM, the organizer of this program for managers, is a premier Business School located
in Bangalore. SJIM upholds the core values of The Society of Jesus, whose members
are known as Jesuits. Their ideals of love and service, faith and justice are lived
concretely in their dedication to impart quality education over the past 450 years. Their

Program Fees
Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 30 participants on a first-come-first-served
basis of qualified candidates.
Charges for 5 modules including program material, lunch, tea and snacks - Rs.
15,000/
For those requiring accommodation, there are many accommodation options around
the campus on M.G. Road. Please mail the coordinator with your requirements for
assistance with finding accommodation to fit your budget.
Registration Procedure
Candidates should fill in the registration form available at
before August 10, 2017. Online payment of the course fees of Rs.15,000/- can be made
using a debit / credit card or online transfer.
Due to the limited seats for this program, candidates will be selected on a first come first
serve basis. Candidates should be familiar with basic Excel and usage of
computers.

Module 2 : Basic Analytics Techniques and Evaluation of Models
This module will introduce basic supervised and unsupervised techniques used in
analytics models. The method of analytics using training and validation data, evaluation
of models and basic techniques of Naïve Bayes, K-nn, Market Basket, Collaborative
filtering with working with XLMiner and excel based analytics software. Presentations by practitioners with business use cases for participants to connect with the business use of analytics
Sessions Plan Day 1 : Method of analytics , evaluation of models, Techniques – their basis and working in XLMiner Day 2 : Business use case sharing by practitioners / Industry experts
Module 3 : Additional Techniques for Creation of Models
This module will introduce additional techniques like Clustering, Decision Trees, Linear
regression, Logistic regression and Text Analytics and their working in XLMiner

Module 4: Software and Tools for Big Data working and specialized
applications
This module will familiarize participants with specialised software and tools useful for
analytics working for data storage, manipulation and modeling

Module 5 : Workshop on using Analytics for Classification /
Prediction
Participants will be working on a project of their choice through the program modules and
this session will help them integrate the learning and share their experience with the
remaining participants.

The Format
Modular over 5 weekends (10 hours / week)
(Saturday 5 sessions - 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 3 sessions - 9 am to 1 pm)
Classroom sessions covering the theory and the concepts related to analytics.
Expert advice from specialists and discussions with practitioners from the industry.
Working on an actual analytics project of interest to an individual or jointly by a group
of participants using existing data in consultation and guidance from faculty of SJIM
over the duration of the programme.
Networking opportunities between people from diverse backgrounds and interests.

Module 1: An Introduction to Data handling and Visualisation
This module will commence with an introduction to types of data, it's sources, cleaning, organization and storage for use in analytics. An introduction to data handling and visualization techniques with tools available in Excel. This will be followed by an introduction to Tableau for visualization of large data sets.
