What makes a portrait a Classic?

Lighting. Compelling portrait lighting was defined 500 years ago by the masters in Italy. It takes years to learn, and is still practiced by just a few masters today.

Melodic composition. Arranging a family grouping that flows and isbalanced, while flattering each individual, is still a skill owned by very few photographers or painters.

Timelessness. Resisting trendy Photoshop tricks, and learning time-tested principles of natural color and dimensional lighting, take time to learn and patience to practice.

A traditional family session is created at our beautiful studio and gardens. We also enjoy capturing families in their own environment. Home portrait sessions are a perfect way to make your family feel at ease for their pictures.

High School portrait sessions are a time to celebrate your teen and who they are becoming. The Busath Senior Portfolio session includes 3+ outfits, formal, garden and urban settings, uniforms, instruments and whatever else tells the story of your graduate’s life.

canvasproducts Hand-made by Busath’s own master printer, these canvases are crafted using the longest lasting archival materials available in the art world today.

The Gallery Wrap Canvases shown here are hand stretched around a 2” deep wood frame allowing them to hang frameless on the wall. Fine art shadow-box frames are also available for this style.

With all due respect to fireplaces, nothing warms a room like a child’s portrait, done in classic Busath style. We recommend a portrait each three years of a child’s young life, alternating between casual garden portraits and formals created in the studio.

The Busath Composite Family portrait (above) is a wonderful new option for large groups, even when your not all in town at the same time. By photographing individual families one at a time, we achieve better expressions and lighting on each family member. Later, we artfully arrange them into a large group picture. The framed and finished piece (at least 60 inches long!) will be a stunning image to display in your home and a statement about how important your family is to you.
