Your guide to travel to the new DGRI

NHS Dumfries and Galloway are committed to supporting and encouraging staff who would like to walk or cycle to work at the new hospital. The health board are working with Dumfries and Galloway Council to ensure there are good walking and cycle paths to and from Dumfries town. This is part of part of a wider strategy to improve travel and transport to the new hospital.

Changing areas in the new DGRI are available to all staff. They include showering and hair drying facilities, as well as areas for drying clothes. There are secure bike storage facilities onsite.

NHS staff can save on the cost of a new bike and spread the cost over a year through the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Cyclescheme. The scheme can be used to buy bikes and accessories such as panniers and lights. You can save up to 25% if you are a higher rate tax payer. See www.cyclescheme.co.uk/a7fdb for more details.
