Local public transport has a vital role to play in future mobility concepts, both within urban areas and for connecting with the surrounding region. Local public transport in Germany already accounts for 10.4 billion passenger journeys each year (VDV). It will acquire even greater importance in the future due to increasing urbanisation and a growing environmental awareness, requiring some innovative solutions. With a special display area reserved for buses, alternative forms of propulsion and charging systems InnoTrans is responding to this heightened awareness, providing a meeting place for manufacturers, suppliers and buyers from transport companies.

Der Öffentliche Nahverkehr spielt eine zentrale Rolle für die Mobilitätskonzepte der Zukunft – in der Stadt wie auch für die Anbindung der Region. Bereits heute transportiert der ÖPNV in Deutschland jährlich 10,4 Milliarden Fahrgäste (VDV). Steigende Urbanisierung und ein wachsendes Umweltbewusstsein werden den Stellenwert künftig noch erhöhen und erfordern zugleich innovative Lösungen. Mit einem speziellen Ausstellungsbereich für Busse, alternative Antriebe und Ladelösungen greift die InnoTrans dieses gestiegene Bewusstsein auf und bringt Hersteller, Lieferanten und Einkäufer der Verkehrsunternehmen zusammen.

InnoTransON THE ROAD / AUF DER STRASSE

The Bus Display is an opportunity for trade visitors to acquaint themselves with electric buses from international manufacturers, as well as with charging infrastructure systems and products from the supply industry. In addition to the areas set aside for exhibits the Bus Display also features a 500-metre Demonstration Course where professionals can see the vehicles in operation. Moreover the ‘Sommergarten‘at the heart of the Berlin Exhibition Grounds is the ideal link to all the other display areas, and its park-like layout is an inviting place for trade visitors to relax for a while.

Das Bus Display zeigt den Fachbesuchern Elektrobusse von internationalen Herstellern, Ladeinfrastruktursysteme und Produkte der Zuliefererindustrie. Neben den Ausstellungsflächen verfügt das Bus Display mit dem Demonstration Course über einen 500 Meter langen Rundlauf für Demonstrationsfahrten, bei denen sich das Fachpublikum einen Eindruck von den Fahrzeugen im fahrenden Betrieb machen kann. Der zentral gelegene ‚Sommergarten‘ des Berliner Messegeländes garantiert den Fachbesuchern zusätzlich eine ideale Anbindung zu allen weiteren Ausstellungsbereichen und lädt durch seine parkähnliche Gestaltung zum Verweilen ein.

At InnoTrans 2018 international manufacturers from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Germany presented ten electric buses and also invited interested trade visitors for a test run. The presentations by exhibitors focused in particular on alternative propulsion systems to promote more environmentally friendly local public transport. Along with various electric buses and charging solutions, for the first time the display also featured a vehicle powered by fuel cells. Leading suppliers also presented individual subassemblies, components and services for vehicles.

The subject matter of the Bus Display was augmented by a supporting programme with a number of interesting formats. For example, 2018 included the International Bus Forum, while the Dialog Forum dealt with links between bus and rail services. Guided tours of the Bus Display were provided for the first time.

Zur vergangenen InnoTrans präsentierten internationale Hersteller aus Frankreich, Italien, den Niederlanden, Österreich sowie Polen und Deutschland zehn Elektrobusse und luden interessierte Fachbesucher zur Probefahrt ein. Im Fokus der Aussteller lagen insbesondere alternative Antriebe für einen umweltfreundlichen Öffentlichen Nahverkehr.

Neben verschiedenen Elektrobussen und Ladelösungen wurde erstmalig auch ein Fahrzeug mit Brennstoffzellenantrieb vorgestellt. Des Weiteren präsentierten namhafte Anbieter einzelne Baugruppen, Komponenten und Dienstleistungen rund um das Fahrzeug.

Inhaltlich ergänzt wurde das Bus Display durch verschiedenste Formate im Rahmen-programm. So fand 2018 das International Bus Forum statt und das Dialog Forum hatte die Verbindung von Bus- und Bahnverkehr zum Thema. Erstmalig wurden auch geführte Rundgänge im Bus Display angeboten.
