As recommended in the Burnum Burnum Wetland Management Plan, May 2012, these upgrades to the wetland will improve its functioning and performance that complements the estuarine values of the Woronora River. This project is funded through the Stormwater Levy. The works will involve: installation of floating reed bed in pond 1 (south) construction of a floating boom between ponds 1 & 2 • planting of saltwater tolerant species in pond 2 perimeter planting around ponds 1 & 2 improvements to outlet structure in pond 2 (north) better access for maintenance vehicles to carry out repair works. Sutherland Shire Council is undertaking an upgrade to the Burnum Burnum Sanctuary Wetland.

As recommended in the Burnum Burnum Wetland Management Plan, May 2012, these upgrades to the wetland will improve its functioning and performance that complements the estuarine values of the Woronora River. This project is funded through the Stormwater Levy.
