• Players are rated to create next year’s teams• Note strong/weak players throughout season• Plan on attending October meeting to discuss

skill, attendance, and attitude

Division Guidelines – 7U/8UHighlights:• Players on field: 4 (3 min.); on team: 12 (Jamboree style)• Teams should be split evenly in number and talent• Field size is much smaller• Throw-ins allowed, not required; alternative is to pass (not

boot) ball in. • No goalkeepers, no offside• No referees• No slide tackling or headers• No score, no standings, no playoffs

Division Guidelines – 10UHighlights:• Players on field: 7 (5 minimum). 10 on roster.• Goalkeeper: May play 2 quarters, no punting• Coaches & players on opposite side of field from parents• Referees: 3-person teams + CVP program• 25-minute halves, 5-minute halftime• Throw-in rule: Enforced • Slide tackling: Allowed, but not taught• Headers: Not allowed, not taught• Build-out line• Offside: Enforced beyond build-out line• Lopsided scoring: Aim to keep goal differential below 4

Division Guidelines – 12UHighlights:• Players on field: 9 (6 minimum)• Goalkeeper: May play 2 quarters, punting is allowed• Coaches & players on opposite side of field from parents• Referees: 3-person teams + RVP program• 30-minute halves, 5-minute halftime• Offside/Throw-in laws: Enforced • Slide tackling: Allowed• Headers: Not allowed, not taught except for safety • Misconduct: Verbal instruction, yellow and red cards • Lopsided scoring: Aim to keep goal differential below 4

Division Guidelines – 14UHighlights:• Players on field: 11 (7 minimum)• Goalkeeper: May play whole game• Coaches & players on opposite side of field from parents• Referees: 3-person teams• 35-minute halves, 5-minute halftime• Offside/Throw-in laws: Enforced • Slide tackling & Headers: Allowed• Misconduct: Verbal instruction, yellow and red cards• Lopsided scoring: Aim to keep goal differential below 4

Safety and Game Prep• Be on time, which means early• Help set up, take down, inspect fields• Uniform and shin guards• No jewelry, splints, braces, hair clips, etc.• Prepare for severe/hot weather & hydration• Pack sunscreen, hair bands, baggies• Concussion awareness• Soccer insurance

Field Care and Safety• No dogs (especially on turf fields)• On turf fields:

– Water only – No food – No umbrellas/stakes– No chairs on the turf surface

• On all fields: No adults playing vs. kids

Key Law Changes!• Drop Ball: 1 player• Free Kicks: no attackers in “the wall”• Goal Kicks/defensive FK in Penalty Area: in play when

kicked; defending team allowed in Penalty Area• Handling: clarified, unintentional cannot score goals/create

goal scoring opportunity; GK misplays with feet can then use hands

• Kickoff: choice• PK: GK must have 1 foot on the line• Misconduct: coaches can be carded

10U Cup Volunteer Point (CVP) System

• Each 10U team must have at least one trained referee

• 11 points earned to qualify for Cup (2 pts for new referee; 1 pt for returning (incl. from a different region)/ youth referee; max 6 pts for youth referee)

12U Referee Volunteer Point (RVP) System

• Each team provides volunteer refs

• Referees affiliated with teams
