Bunions
If you think Bunions are for Seniors.
Think Again!!
Bunions can actually start much sooner.
Bunions are most often caused by wearing the wrong
footwear.
You may think that high healed pointed toe shoes look pretty,
but they may be creating a problem which may only
be remedied by a
surgical procedure.
What are bunions?
While wearing tight footwear, your large toe has no other option but to bend and point toward the adjoining toe, pushing the joint out of socket.
As the outer joint grows, tendons begin to force that toe into an unnatural position.
Shoes which make the toes bend will make the bunions
worse.
If your foot is prone to bunions, shoes that are too restricted will speed up the growth of bunions.
Wearing shoes of an appropriate size and width will at least postpone the growing of bunions.
Symptoms of Bunions
•The big toe overlaps the adjacent toe creating redness and slight inflammation.
•An extreme discomfort in the toe joint
•A protruding bump which runs along the borders at the big toes' foundation
•A dull pain in the toe joint when walking or after walking
•Inflammation or redness near the toe joint
It is impossible to eradicate bunions without surgery.
The development of bunions may be slowed a great deal or maybe even stopped altogether by wearing the correct shoes.
The best cure is to not wear shoes that do not fit properlyand avoid high heel shoes with pointed toes.
Supportive footwear with an adequate toe box, like those from:
•Birkenstock •Finn Comfort •Birki’s •ALPRO, •Footprints, •Tatami, •Papillio
tend not to squeeze your toes together.
