Un-Edited Bullsheet
G’day to you all out there in Subaru land. Hope you are all well as we
smash headlong into Mad March.
It’s not often that I drive into and through the city; I normally get by with
skirting the ring roads to avoid the traffic. It was while stuck in traffic
between the walls of the barren cappuccino canyons, with their precipices
holding back all but a thin line of distant blue sky that I thought “I miss
being in the bush”. Looking out my window at the grey suits of office
workers, rushing past each other, not noticing if another soul was even
there, I released a lament to myself “oh take me away”.
Trapped in that paralysed line of traffic, my memory wondered, revisiting
red sand hills sparsely covered in spiny grasses whose seeds caught in my
socks, endless gibber plains with shimmering mirages, steep mountainous
tracks that climb away to seamless 360 degree views beyond multiple ho-
rizons that stop when you reach the end of the world……….I can’t wait to
go bush. A harsh BEEP crashed me rudely back to reality, we were on the
move again and the guy behind me in bus did not share the same place I
was…...lost in my own head.
Now home again, plans are in the making for some trips away. Yep, the
usual stuff for me, working bees to Inness and the Southern Flinders that
provide access to areas no one else gets to drive, and maybe, at last, a trip
into the Northern Flinders. It’s been a long time since we have been into
the Northern Flinders; it’s a trip I have wanted to do again for ages. The
Flinders is where many weekends were spent when growing up, driven
around by dad visiting family haunts, then when able driving myself even
further, to explore where not many have been before.
What are your plans now that the cooler weather is slowly creeping in?
Where do you plan to visit?
Back to earth the Fringe Parade was great fun, everyone enjoyed it, and
the kids even got to ride in the back of the Ute! The noise and sights were
something to behold, colour and movement fused together with Bolly-
wood sound tracks, hope we can do it again next year.
Anyway enough from me,
See you round the traps or at the next meeting.

The Editors Bullsheet
Another fun filled month in subyland
My family have been settling into life back on the school round about as are
so many others.
We have also enjoyed the Fringe festival including the fabulous parade and a
comedy show in the east end.
The Clipsal was exciting, being at the track is invigorating I was fortunate
enough to visit with my eldest son and two of his friends as chaperones we
had an awesome day.
My youngest son Aiden turned 11 years old where has the time gone, like his
brother Ethan he will soon tower over me, not little boys any more.
I have changed the front inside page I hope everyone finds it appealing and
informative.
We have some great trips planed for the coming year with plenty of room for
more to be added so pick a date and write up a trip sheet.
Another lot of school holidays will soon be looming including the arrival of
the easter bunny
Any donations for our April meeting Easter raffle would be greatly
appreciated.

self sufficient. A UHF radio is really a must. If you do not have one, you can borrow
one from the club. Beginners and visitors are most welcome. It is a good introduc-

The plan at this stage will be to meet 10am at Tailem Bend Servo. From there we will travel
down to either Little Dip Conservation Park (Robe) or Canunda National Park (Millicent) to
bush camp with both sites being camper trailer and caravan friendly.

Hope this finds you all safe and well, Here's hoping you have all had a great Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Firstly, to all of the helpers we had on Wednesday for our Bunnings BBQ
fundraiser a HUGE Thank You!!!!
Although we did not have the crowds we might have expected or hoped for the day still proved to be profitable. We raised around $500.00 for the day. Due to the day not being as successful as both Bunnings and the Club had hoped we have been allocated another day to make up for it.
SATURDAY 15th
MARCH - Bunnings Mile End 7.30am to 5.00pm. Once again we will need to know who will be available to help out on the day and the roster will be a little larger as Saturdays are the busiest and the hours are longer. We will be looking for a start-up crew to help get everything set up and sorted and we will need them from around 7.30AM, much earlier than our last one. We will then need shifts of around two hours to continue all through the day. Hopefully you will be able to support our efforts in some way and if you cannot man the BBQ perhaps you could make some ice for the cooler box or even do some baking to sell as well. Please reply with any help you may be able to provide. Thanks Your committee.

Fringe Parade
We arrived on time, made it relatively easily through the road blocks to our designated spot
in the parade line up. Grace, Paul and Theresa, Debbie and Bruce and Gloria, were all
there. Bruce and Gloria have one of the floats at the front of the parade and the rest of us
were scattered throughout the middle of the parade. Karl and Berlinda and Jordan arrived
shortly after.
There were a lot of characters involved with the parade all in costumes. The Elizabeth,
Theresa and Claire could not help but get a photo with Elvis, and Matthew with a Darlec (Is
that how you spell it Matthew), anyway what I am talking about is the robot alien from Dr
Who.
Peter was another character who wore a full length grey leotard, red speedos and a tall Mo-
hawk. Then there was a guy on spring stilts who we believe had had a few sherbets before
he arrived and was bouncing all over the place and giving everyone a bit of cheek and good
cheer. A downs syndrome guy who was telling everyone, especially Grace, that he was a
ladies man. So many interesting characters to make the night a lot of fun.
It was a long wait for the parade to begin so Theresa, Amelia, Claire and Matthew, Eliza-
beth, Aiden, Ethan and myself went for a walk into the city looking at all the floats along
the way. Half way to North Tce we ran into Charlie and Helen who were involved in the
parade with a different group, an environmental group if memory serves me correctly. Then
further on we came across Paul and Leanne and most of their family.
Isn’t funny, I don’t seem to notice my boys getting bigger because I see them every day,
although every now and again it does strike me, but when I saw Rachel and Hanna and Wil-
low, I couldn’t believe how they’d grown up.
We had something to eat in a food court off Rundle Mall then returned to the others back
by our cars. Again we were still waiting for the parade to start.
The time came for the parade to start when the word came back that it was to be delayed 20
minutes. It was a long wait from the time we got there to when the parade actually started
but once it did we were all very excited.
The parade was lined up in two lines and most of us were in the second line so we got to
see the first part of the parade pass by.
It was a lot of fun.

Subaru Celebrates 20 Million
Tue, 28/01/2014
Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), the maker of Subaru vehicles, has made its 20 millionth car in Japan, since production started in 1958. FHI marked the occasion with a ceremony at its Gunma Yajima Plant, in Japan. Subaru began domestic production 56 years ago at its then Gunma Isesaki Plant, with the Subaru 360 minicar. As production increased, FHI set up operations at Gunma Main Plant and Gunma Yajima Plant, both located in Ota city, Gunma prefecture. It also established Gunma Oizumi Plant to manufacture engines, transmissions and other automotive parts. In the early days, production models included mini-vehicles, the Subaru 1000, Leone and Justy and later moved on to Legacy (Liberty in Australia), Outback, Impreza, Forester and more recently XV and BRZ, among others. FHI President, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, said: “This remarkable achievement of 20 million-unit domestic production would not have been possible without our esteemed customers and the years of diligent work by our employees, past and present. “I am humbled and sincerely grateful. From here, we enter a new phase of our adventure, a new chal-lenge. We will aim for further improvement in every aspect of our operation, in safety, quality and pro-ductivity.”
History of Subaru production in Japan
1958: Production of Subaru 360 begins at Gunma Isesaki Plant 1960: Gunma Plants established; Gunma Main Plant begins production

Colour of Jade Chapter 3
Distraught and disengaged
Michael and Jade followed Tia toward the back room. They could here laughter coming from
within and then the sound of something solid hitting the floor. They entered the room and saw
seven other children, who were in the midst of something humorous. The other children
stopped and looked at the group entering the room, one boy was on the floor and a chair was
on its side.
“This is Michael and Jade” Tia introduced, and then pointing at the other children he an-
nounced their names. “This is Sue, Daniel, Stephen, Joshua, Alana, Peter and Ben” Tia intro-
duced.
Michael and Jade looked around the room at all the other children. They all looked to be mid-
dle primary school age other than Alana and Peter who looked the same age as Jade.
Alana was the first to say something, “welcome to the club”
“Thanks” was all Michael could summon
Jade was horrified, she didn’t want to come in the first place, and now she would be stuck in a
small room with all these younger kids, ‘it wasn’t fair’ she thought to herself.
Michael decided to make the best of it “Hi, nice to meet you all, what movie are you going to
watch”
Daniel who was nine smiled and replied “Pirates of the Caribbean, the Black Pearl”.
“That’s a great movie, do you mind if I watch it with you” Michael enquired.
“Sure” said Daniel, “you can sit alongside of me.
“Thanks” replied Michael “its Daniel right”
A big smile lit up Daniels face when he realized Michael had remembered his name. “Yeah,
that’s right” Daniel replied smugly looking around the room.
A small flat screen TV sat on top of a low cupboard at the back of the room and chairs were
placed in a semi-circle around it. The main table had been pushed back into the front corner
away from the door to make room to sit around the TV. A couple of bowls of chips, a 2 litre
bottle of lemon soft drink and enough plastic cups for everyone sat on the main table.
“Well you seem to all be organized” offered Tia, “so I’m going back to the meeting, nice to
meet you both” and Tia turned a left the room.
Alana walked over toward Jade, Jade saw her coming and turned and followed Tia out of the
room and back toward the meeting.
Ozzy had just finished announcing the raffle prizes for the night and asked the secretary to
read the minutes from the previous meeting when Tia and Jade walked in. Tia found a seat
amongst the members and sat down. Jade looked around and saw her Mum and Dad, though
there were no vacant seats around them so Jade found a seat at back, place her ear buds in her
ears and proceeded to listen to her music on her ipod.
Jades mother looked around and tried to get her attention. The gentleman sitting a couple of
seats away realized her mother was trying to get her attention and tapped Jade on the shoul-
der. Jade pulled away and gave the guy a disapproving look then noticed he was motioning
toward her mother. Jade looked at her mother then turned away ignoring her and continued to
listen to her music.
Alana went over to Michael and asked if Jade was shy.
15
Nope, she’s just a bitch. Don’t worry about her, she doesn’t like anyone” Michael an-
swered.
The group in the back room watched the movie then sat around chatting and mucking
about, and even though Michael was the eldest in the room, he had a great time. Michael
and Peter seemed to get along well and Peter explained that he and Alana were twins.
After the meeting was finished, Michael came out from the back room to find his Mum and
Dad chatting about a trip to Rawnsley Park, then saw Jade sitting at the back of the room
with her ear buds still in.
Once people were starting to leave, Ozzy said goodbye and hope they would come again.
“I’m sorry about Jade” Sarah apologized, “she’s not a real people person at the best of
times but combine that with her age”
“That’s fine, don’t worry about it” supported Ozzy. “If she was happy listening to her mu-
sic instead of me boring the crap out of her that’s fine, and sometimes it takes people a little
time to fit in.”
“Thanks Ozzy” responded David, “and we did enjoy the meeting and we will be back”.
“That’s great, look forward to seeing you soon” Ozzy replied “now if you will excuse me I
have to talk to Julie before she leaves”
Ozzy walked away and Sarah walked over to Jade and pulled out an ear bud out of her ear
and coldly told her they were leaving.
Once they got into the car Sarah turned on Jade with fury. “You stuck up snotty nosed little
bitch, how dare you embarrass me in front of all those people”
Before Sarah could go any further Jade fired back at her mother, “ I told you I didn’t want
to go, but you made me, you said it would be fun but it wasn’t it was boring and embarrass-
ing”
“What did you have to be embarrassed about, you didn’t even try to make friends, you’ve
got your head shoved so far up of your own self-importance” Sarah countered
“I had a great time, they all seem like nice kids to me” Michael remarked
“Yeah, but you’re an idiot and you like everyone” Jade screamed at her brother.
“Alright, that’s enough” yelled her Father, “everyone just shut up, I don’t want to hear an-
other word about it. We are going to another meeting, and you are both coming again”.
Jade started to protest.
“No, we are all going and if you want to sit down the back and listen to your ipod, so be it,
but I won’t hear another word about it, so sit there and be quiet.”
Jade turned toward the window, curled her legs up and buried her head down and started
crying.
“Oh god give me strength” her mother said quietly
The journey home was silent for the rest of the way, and once they got home, they all got
out of the car and Jade went straight to her room and closed the door.
“I don’t know what I am going to do with that girl” Sarah said to David.
“Just give her time and space, that’s all we can do” he replied.
“Good night Mum, night Dad” Michael said as he walked toward the back door.
“Goodnight darling” replied Sarah.
“Goodnight Mate” answered David
