An Exciting and Prosperous Fall Greetings Brethren, At the onset of our September Joint Session of all Bodies, the newly elected and appointed Officers started off their terms with enthusiasm, with Brother Robert W. Dittmar, Thrice Potent Master, presiding. At this meeting a Clam Bake and Steak event was announced which was successfully held at the Grotto in South Williamsport. There were over 100 in attendance that enjoyed not only clams and steak with an array of other food, but also clam chowder and shrimp, which were added surprises by our friend and Brother John L. Debo, Jr., his lady Sharon, and family. Great fellowship was had by all. At our October Meeting, Brother Michael A. Slack, Sovereign Prince, presided over the meeting and presented an interesting program on our celebrating of St. John the Evangelist Day in June and St. John the Baptist Day, more commonly known as St. John’s Day, in December. November was a very busy month for our Valley, for Officers and Members alike. That Stated Meeting was presided over by Brother Mark J. Phillips, Most Wise Master. All Members of our Valley that were also Veterans of the Armed Forces who were in attendance were recognized for their service. This was complemented by a special program presented by Brother Jeffrey M. Wonderling, Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden, when he articulated what every word recited in our country’s Pledge of Allegiance means. Some of us have heard this program performed by the late Brother Red Skelton. It was refreshing, and it reminded us once more why we are privileged to live in this country due to the sacrifices made by our Veterans. Bless them all. Two days later, following the Stated Meeting, our Fall Reunion was held on Saturday, November 18 th . The Class Honoree was our friend and Deputy for Pennsylvania, Ill. Brother Thomas K. Sturgeon. Although we fell short of our goal of new Members, we did not fall short on quality. The new Members were attentive, enthusiastic and appreciative of the work done by our Degree Teams. Hats off to all those involved in the Class, including the committees and Degree Teams, for their terrific dedication. Following the Degrees, there was a special Wine and Cheese Social held in the Acacia Club in celebration of the Fall Class for all those that remained in attendance for the evening banquet, including the new Members and their guests. Entertainment was presented by a special guest pianist, Brother Gerald McGrew, during the social and the banquet, where he captured everyone’s attention with his lively “Billy Joel” style music. The banquet concluded with inspirational words by Ill. Brother Thomas K. Sturgeon, giving emphasis on why we are, and should be, proud Scottish Rite Masons. To conclude this calendar year before our holiday break, our December Meeting will be enriched with a musical performance by “KJ”, daughter of Brother Thomas J. Reimensnyder, 33°, M.S.A., and his wife Margaret. Please plan to come out for another enjoyable performance by “KJ”. The year ahead looks just as promising. Already there is a Dinner & Dance featuring the renowned Gregg Burgess Trio, who play jazz, rag-time, and blues, scheduled for February 17 th . It is just three days after Valentine’s Day if you’d like to include that in your calendar. There will also be a repeat of our St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 17 th , with the same nine-piece band as last year, and then the Valley Cruise to the Bahamas from April 7 th to the 14 th , just to name a few of the upcoming activities. Look for more information in the next bulletin that you’ll receive in February . . . but save the dates now! Fraternally, Ill. Ronald A. An Exciting and Prosperous FallGreetings Brethren,

Preserve Our Future and Our HeritageThe main purpose in establishing the Century Club was to perpetuate the well-being of Scottish Rite Masonry in the Valley of Williamsport. Through

generous contributions and the commitment of our Members, this Century Club will better insure an enduring Legacy for the years to come. Through the Foundation, which is a recognized 501(c)3 organization, these funds qualify as a tax deductible donation.

Currently, there are sixteen individuals and one Lodge who have made this contribution in either a lump sum payment of $10,000, or in partial payments in amounts convenient to them. Some individuals simply establish an automatic payment of just over $83 per month. The Foundation will have $180,000 in this fund once all contributions from these generous individuals have been received. Presently there is over $154,000 in the account.

The question now is, what will YOU do to protect and preserve our heritage? How important is this to YOU? We invite and implore YOU to become a Century Club Member and Preserve Our Legacy.

Scottish Rite Window ProjectThe Williamsport Scottish Rite is still seeking donations to complete its ongoing window replacement project in an effort to make the facility more energy efficient.

The Valley borrowed monies from its Investment accounts to purchase the windows and lock in the prices, but wishes to put donations back into the Investments once received. The next time you visit the Valley, please check out the memorial/honorary plaques recognizing those who have already made a difference.

Can you support this endeavor and help the Valley make some upgrades while honoring or memorializing someone important to you? Please contact the Office if you can assist with this endeavor and to answer any of your questions.

“ ” means window has been purchased, while “ ” means half of a two set window has been purchased.

The costs of the windows are $476, $521, or $542, depending on which window you choose. There are many windows left that need donations. If you can find it in your heart to assist with this project, please call the Office and select a window.
